The Junior Belles Ringette team played
three close, hard fought games this week.
The team, suffering the loss of three major
players to the band's trip to Florida and up to
five others for various reasons, have had to
rely on the Petite team to make up the
number for a complete team.
Thanks' to the younger squad, the Junior
Belles won one game and lost the other two by
only one goal each.
The first game played on home ice was a
5-2 win over Exeter. Super goaltending by
Shelly O'Brien and strong defensive play
kept the count low for Exeter, while
defense -person, turned centre, Shelly Nigh
counted three points with two goals and one
assist. Lisa Henderson scored another
Seaforth goal and Tracey Fortune drilled in
two more for the total score.
Other assists went to Heather McKercher,
Laura Pletch and Susan Rowcliffe.
The second game was in Huron Park with
Tracey Fortune having a hot night with six
points - st. Janice
Rodney, Pone ofhePet
ive atand tes, started the
scoring for the team. Tawnya Taylor was also
flying high with four assists andone goal.
Susan Rowcliffe also counted one assist,
giving Seaforth and District a total of seven
goals and Huron Park eight.
The final game saw another defense person
tum centre, scdre three of the four goals
against Exeter. Tracey Fortune scored the
other with assists going to Jill Betties and
Kim Rau.

Petites were bused to Seaforth with lots of
fans, however the Seaforth Petite Ringette
team came up with the 5-0 win.
Since Goderich has a very young team, the
more experienced Seaforth players took
defensive positions allowing the younger and
new players to get a few goals of their own.
Sunday's goals were awarded to Jennifer
Siemon, Kelly Rau, Carrie Mcllwain, Jill
Wood. and Robyn Camochan. Assists went to
Katie Craig and Jill Wood. This Is a team
