New Year's Eve bash is a big
success at local Legion branch

The New Year's Eve lash was a success
in every way and the Legion Entertainment
Committee deserve a vote of thanks from all
who attended. The food and music and
anything else partaken of was excellent, A
goeid number alsc attended the Levee on New
Year's day, held in the Branch. Thanks to
Tom and George ant: their wives who also had
a hand in it as well. It was all very much
appreciated by everybody. These have been
yearly events and we hope they will continue
in the future.
The Seaforth Pee W ee hockey team, which
the Legion sponsors in part, has had success
in some of their tournaments. Recently they
won the consolation prize in a Shelbourne
tournament, There are more tournaments to
participate in, including the Goderich Pee
Wee tournament at the Easter break.
The Early Bird Campaign came to an end
and according to Membership Chairman Al
Nicholson the Seaforth Legion managed to

Frank Sills and Edmund Daly were in
Toronto Saturday. December 28 attending
the funeral of Margaret Daly, wife of John F.
Daly, brother of Edmund Daly, Seaforth, and
George Daly, Niagara -on -the -Lake.

Alberta after having spent a week with his

committee deserve a big hand for the work
they have done in achieving such a high
percentage of early birds, this past 10 years.
Very few branches can boast a record as good
as this.
The Stag Euchre will begin again W ednes-
day. January 8 at 8 p.m. and will continue
!.very Iwo weeks unless otherwise informed.
Comrade Mel Melanson has volunteered to
hold a couple of cribbage tournaments this
month. The first will be held on Monday,
January l3 at 8 p.m. and the second on
January 27. Any members wishing to play
cribbage please keep these dates in mind.
There will be a meeting of the executive
Thursday at 8 p.m. Committee chairmen are
asked to be present. Next week there will be a
regular meeting of the Branch. At this time
there will be a draw for a Jubilee Silver coin
valued at 825. President Jack Muir hopes
'members will make an effort to attend.
At the going down of the sun and in the

ADVANCED CROCHETING will be held at the HIGH SCHOOL on
Tuesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 p.m. for ten weeks, beginning
January 14. Registration fee is $25 and your instructor will be Bessie
Broome. This course will let the student work at more advanced
patterns.
TYPING will be held at the HIGH SCHOOL on Thursday evenings
