Belles take double-header
The Seaforth Belles look a double header
from Huron Park on the weekend with the
Seaforth girls handily winning both games,
On Sunday evening the final score was 8-3
for Seaforth with the local girls playing a good
solid game of ringette. Amy Vanden Akker
and Tammy Taylor each had two goals while
Jane Rowcliffe. Lisa Calver, Jennifer Walt.
and Katrina Lindeman each added a goal.
Assists went to Pam Campbell. Katrina
Lindeman. Amo Vanden Akker. Julie How-
son and Tracy Taylor with two.
I In Saturday at Huron Park the girls shut
out the opposing team 4-0 with goalie Leanne
Whitmore playing an outstanding game in
net, to record the shutout. The girl's next
home game is this Sunday evening at 6 p.m.
against the skilled Goderich team. Seaforth
and Goderich have met twice this season with
Goderich winning the first game 6-4 and the
second game in a 4-4 tie. It should be a good
one
Novices go international
Team work was the key to success for the
Seaforth Novice hockey team this week. Good
goaltending. defence and offence also helped
lead the boys to their first Silver Stick
Championship in Parkhill
Seaforth beat Lrstow•el 4-2 in the first
game. Scoring for Seaforth was Mike Watt
with three goals and Joe Murray with one. an
assist went to Mike Weber.
The second game against North London
Minor was won easily by a 14-1 score. Scoring
for Seaforth was Joe Murray with four goals
add one assist. Mike Devereaux with three
goals. one assist, Mike W att with three goals,
Mike Weber with two goals and three assists,
Boyd Devereaux with one goal and Wayne
Schoonderwoerd with one goal and one
assist. Assists also went to Patrick Cook with
two and Dean Finnigan. Harold Hugill and
Jim Crowley each with one.
In the semi, finals Seaforth met Lambeth
who they defeated 4-2. Scoring for Seaforth
was Mike Watt with three goals and one
assist and Mike Moylan with one goal and one
assist Assists also went to Joe Murray with
two and Jeff Flannigan and Jeff Ryan each
with one.

and defeated them 4-2 Scoring for Seaforth

High school curlers
qualify for competition
A contingent of curlers representing the
Seaforth District High School have qualified
for the All -Ontario final of the Pepsi Junior
Schoolboys Curling competition.
The rink of Dave Campbell, skip, Ron
Pryce. vice. Peter Ste. Marie, second; Steve
Dnlmage. lead and Brian Beattie. spare, were
one of two teams to qualify after a zonetypPe
playoff held in Hanover; 00. atUrilaY, Lin
did so by defeating rinks from Sarnia, "Londdon
and Windsor. Brian Beattie filled in for Ron
Pryce who is playing hockey in Denmark
in an earlier tournament the local rink were
the 13 winners for Division 13 of the Pepsi
Junior Schoolboys competition.
The AII.Ontario championship will be
played m Windsor from January 2:1 to 25.
The Junior Belles played their first game in
Mitchell on Saturday, and lost to the hosting
team 13-5.
Seaforth played a steady game not letting
their opposing team run away with a win.
They had some great shots on Mitchell's
goalie but unfortunately only five goals were
scored. Tammy Nash had three of these goals
and the other two went to Tracey Fortune.
Assists went to Lisa Henderson with four,
and Tammy Nash with one.
Lisa Henderson and Tammy Nash tied with
4 points each in this game.
Shelly O'Brien worked really hard in net,
as she faced many shots.
Seaforth played their second game Sun-
day, at home against Huron Park. They won
After three stormed -out games against
Huron Park, Exeter and Brussels the
Seaforth Petite ringette girls were happy to
finally play a game against Mitchell on
Sunday.
Mitchell won 13-4 uver Seaforth, but the
team had fun and learned a few new tricks
from the Mitchell girls.
Seaforth goals were scored by Jill Wood,
Jill Betties 2, and Kim Rau. Assists were
given to Jill Wood on two of the goals, The
next home game is this Sunday, January 12 at
4:00-5:00 p,m.. at Seaforth and District
Community Centres.
Seaforth Pee Wees win three
regular games over Christmas
The Seaforth Pee Wees played three
regular hockey games over the Christmas
break and were winners in each game.

On December 21 they hosted the Mitchell
Pee Wees and won by a score of 9-4 after a
hard fought game. Fourteen penalties were
called in this game. Brent vanden Akker and
Ray Murray each had a hat trick and singles
went to Ted Sills, Jason McNichol and
Karsten Carroll.
SKAFOKTII 13CLINTON:1
Ray Murray's five goal performance led
the Pee Wees to a 13-3 win over the Clinton
Squad on December 30 in Seaforth. Jason
McNichol had a double and getting one
apiece were Jason Papple, Jason Schoonder-
woerd. Brian Cook, Karsten Carroll, Ted Sills
and Brent vanden Akker.
SEA FORTH 6 CLINTON 2
On January 2 Seaforth travelled to Clinton
for a return Thatch and won 6-2 to start the
new year off right,
At the end of the second period the score
was 3-1 for Seaforth.
The third period became rougher as six
penalties and one 10 -minute misconduct was
called. Seaforth continued to dominate as
they scored three goals to Clinton's one.
Scoring were Jason Papple and Jason
Schoonderwoerd with two, and Brian Cook
and Paid McLiwain with one each.
SEAFORTH :1 MILVERTON 5
On December 17 the Pee Wees lost their
second game of the season to Milverton 5-3.
Their record to date is 11 wins, 1 tie and 2
losses.
The next home game is Saturday against
Milverton.
Mid -winter programs begin
RECREATION PREVIEW

MID W INTER PROGRAMS are all set to
begin in mid-January. A 10 -week Ceramics
program will be offered starting on Monday,
January 13 with a registration fee of $25 per
person. This program will be held on the
second floor of the Town Hall from 7 to 9 p.m.
and the instructor will be Ann Bosman. Ann
would like all participants to bring their own
greenware for the first class.
Harvey Beuerman will be instructing
Furniture Refinishing. This program will
begin on Monday, January 13 with a
registration fee of $25 per person. It will be
held at the high school for 10 weeks from 7:30
to 9:30 p.m. The student must bring a piece of
wood to work on.
Advanced Crocheting will be offered at the
high school for 10 weeks starting on Tuesday,
January 14. The fee will be $25 per person
and the instructor will be Bessie Broome.
This course will be from 7 to 9 p.m. New and
better patterns will be taught this session,
The Recreation Department will also be
offering a typing course. This program will be
held at the high school from 7:30 to 9:30 p.m.
starting on Thursday, January 16. The fee
will be $25 per person and the instructor will
be Don Renshaw.
A gymnastics program for the children is
still in the works.{'lease watch for details.

FITNESS iS FUN exercise program will be
offered in mid-January. There are two
programs set up. The first one will be on
Wednesday evenings starting on January 15
from 8:30-9:30 p.m. at the Seaforth and
District Community Centres. The registra-
tion fee will be $15 per person for 8 weeks.
The instructor will be Linda Walsh. The
second program is for the not -so -slim and
not -so -young and will be held at the
Community Centres on Tuesday and Thurs-
day mornings from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.
This session will begin on January 14 and the
registration fee will be $25 for 8 weeks. You
may pay $15 and go only one morning per
week. The instructor will be Brenda Derby-
shire. Men are welcome to both sessions. Call
527-0882 for registration or register on the
first night.
The 13th annual OPTIMLST ATOM
HOCKEY TOURNAMENT will be held
January 17, 18. 19 and 26. 1986 at the Arena.
Tournament organizer Jack Bedard, has a
total of 26 teams participating in three
divisions this year. Teams in the "C" division
include: Liman. LM.H.A. Minor, Zurich,
Byron Minor. Elma Logan, and Hensall.
Teams in the "B" division include: Clinton,
Lambeth. Seaforth. New Hamburg, Mitchell,
Walkerton. Paris. and Brantford Minor,
Teams in the "A" division include: Forest,
Southwest London. LM. N.A. Major, Wel-
land. Oakridge. Waterloo. Byron Major.
Mooretown, Goderich, Sarnia Twp., Thorold
and South London. Four games will be played
Friday night starting at 6:00 p.m., 13 games
will be played on Saturday, starting at 8 a.m.
and finishing at 8 p.m., 10 games will be
played on Sunday; starting at 9 a.m. and
finishing at 6 p.m. All final games (6) will be
played on Sunday, 'January 26 starting at
12:30 p.m. and finishing at 5:30 p.m.
Seaforth's first game will be played on
Saturday. January 18 at 8 a.m.. so come out
and support the local boys.
SENiORSHUFFLEBOARD resumes every
W ednesday afternoon from 1:30 too p.m. All
seniors are invited for a fun filled afternoon.
MOMS AND TOTS SKATING will resume
every Wednesday afternoon as well
starting at 1 p.m. and finishing at 3 p.m. Let's
see everyone out.
The 8th ANNUALJR. D. ALLSTAR GA M E
will be held at the Lucan Arena on Saturday,
January 11, 1986, game time is 7 p.m. This is
a chance to support the local boys and watch
some good exciting hockey. Plan to attend.
The Seaforth Recreation Department and
the Seaforth B.1.A, are planning a small
reception to "WELCOME HOME" the
midget hockey team that is presently in
Denmark. This event will take place at the
Seaforth and District Community Centres
upon theirarrival. which will he approximate-
ly 10'30 p.m. on Saturday. January 1I.
