Cent enaires on hot streak
Jim Campbell, with two goals and one
assist, led the Seaforth Centenaires to a 5-3
•victoryovertheClinton Mustangs in Junior D
hockey action in Clinton Friday night.
Campbell's first goal gave Seaforth an
early lead in the game at 2:37 of the first
period, but Clinton replied with a goal of their
own before the period was out.
Kevin Melady put the Centenaires ahead
again midway through the second frame,
assisted ' by Dan Wesenberg and Jerry,
Wright. Another goal by Campbell, assisted
by Dave Murray and Tom Turner; and one by
Murray, assisted by Campbell and John
pale, put Seaforth up 4-1 after two periods.
Clinton outscored Seaforth two goals to one
in period three, but couldn't mount enough
offense to catch the Centenaires. Jerry
W right scored Seaforth's final goal, assisted
by Melady and Wesenberg.
The Seaforth Centenaires celebrated the
holiday season in winning style, earning
victories in five straight games since
December 20.
The most recent win was an 11-0 cake walk
over the Howick Hawks, in Howick on
December 29. Jerry Wright got Seaforth
rolling, scoring the first three goals of the
game, two in the first period and one in the
second. W right added another second -period
goal and an assist in the third frame, to give
him five points for the night. Rob Core, Dave
Murray and Jim Campbell all scored twice in
the game, while Kevin Melody added a,
single. Keith McClure earned the shutout.
SEAFORTH 4, TAVISTOCK 2
The Centenaires did their scoring early,
getting three first -period goals in a 4-2 win
over Tavistock, at home on December 27.
Kevin Melady, Dan Wesenberg and Kevin
W illiamson scored for the Centenaires in the
first period. Melady; Wesenberg, Tom
Turner, Jerry Wright, Bill Dale and Derek
Sorenson drew assists, Dave Murray scored
on the power play in the second frame,
assisted by Melady, -

SEAFORTH 7, MITCHELL 2
Dave M may scored a goal, .and added four
assists, to lead Seaforth to a 7-2 win over
Mitchell, in Mitchell on December 26.
John Dale had a goal and two assists in the
contest, as did , Jim Campbell, Other
Centenaires scoring goals were, Andy
Russell, Kevin Melady, Gerrard Ryan and
Kevin Williamson. Keith McClure made 22
saves in recording the victory.
SEAFORTH 6, BRUSSELS 4
Despite allowing three power play goals,
Seaforth outscored Brussels Bulls 6-4. in a
December 22 game in Brussels,
The game was tied at 1.1 after the first
period and the Centenaires held only a slim
4-3 lead after two periods, but managed the
victory on the strength of three-point
performances from team Captain Dave
Murray and high -scoring forward Jim Camp-
bell,
Murray had a goal and two assists in the
game, while Campbell had two goals and an
assist.
Mark Johnston, Jerry Wright and Kevin
Melady also scored for the Centenaires. Tom
Turner had two assists.
SEAFORTH 10, THEIM OKI) 2
Seaforth pummelled Thedford 10-2, in a
home game, played December 20.
Derek Cooper was outstanding in the
Seaforth goal, stopping 30 shots, while the
Centenaires aimed over 50 shots at Thedford
netminder Randy Thompson.
Jerry Wright led the scoring barrage, with
four goals and four assists. Kevin Melady
also had a hot hand, netting five goals and
assisting on two Centenaire tallies. Dave
Murray scored one goal and assisted on
another.

Seaforth Novices win two recent games
Seaforth travelled to Listowel on Friday
and defeated their Novice team 4-1 in an
exhibition hockey match.
Scoring for Seaforth was Boyd Devereaux
with two goals and Mike Devereaux and Mike
Watt each with one goal.
Assists went to Mike Devereaux and
Wayne Schoonderwoerd each with two.
On Saturday, the Novice defeated Mitchell
10-0.
Scoring for Seaforth were Mike Devereaux
with five goals, Mike Watt with four goals
and Mike Weber with one goal.
Assists went to Boyd Devereaux with
three. Dean Finnigan with two. Harold
Hugill with two. Wayne Schoonderwoerd
with two and Joe Murray, Jeff Ryan, Jeff
Flannigan and M ike Moylan each with one.

Christy comes on strong
Youth Bowling Council bowling this week
saw Christy Nobel bowl two super games of
207 and 224. Todd McTi-an also had a good
show with games of 184 and 180.
Without a doubt the high doubles were
Christy with 431 and Todd at 365.
Todd still has the high average as wee t
163 but Kurt Lindeman is going to h ve to
fight to hang on to his at 148 as quite a few are
close behind.
Most improved this month were lain
Mailloux who improved 10 points and Brian
Little at 9 points.
