To the Editor:
Recently, you had an article in your paper
regarding the formation of a Hockey Team
• at the Seaforth District High School. It cer-
tainly has been a long time'since the last
time they had one there — at least with the
boys. In the 1960s and 1970s they had girl's
hockey teams because some of my
daughters were, on them.
In the 1930s and 1920s there were quite a
number of boys teams and I'm sure they had
them, before that but .1 can't prove it.
Perhaps some of your readers may be able
to cast light on that. However I can prove
the 30s by means of a photo which I am
enclosing. It was taken about 1933 and in-
cluded my brother Der Sells, John Cordno,
Gordon -Rennie, Mr. Ballantyne the Prin-
cipal, Mr. I.H. Weedmark the Science
teacher and Physical .Instructor, George
Parkes, Bill Cudmore, Clarence Trott, Neil
Gillespie, Jack Wright and Lorne Pinkney.
They are in uniform and most didn't wear

defenseman Steve. Schroeder rocketed a
shot from , just inside the blue line that
caught the Exeter netminder off guard and
screened, and the puck ended up behind
him. Mike Schoonderwoerd was awarded
the assist on the play, Brad Carter scored a

the clock, assisted by Boddyand Betties, but
the Hawks left the period a goal ahead as
they scored with 33 seconds remaining.
Early in the second period the Hawks put
their offenseinto full gear and they owned
the ice for five minutes. The first goal was
scored at 17:14, and by 13:27 three more
were scored as the Centenaires' defensive
play fell apart -and the Hawks lead was ex-

Centenaires had a few left. Cents' net-
minder Bill Tremeer was replaced by
Trevor Fortune for the remainder of the
game after the last Exeter goal.
The power play went to work for the
Centenaires, and Kevin Melady teamed up
with Lyndon and Betties to get the team
back on track. Betties got his second of the
game with assistance from Rob McEwen
and Kevin Williamson on another power

In the third period the Centenaires held
