Legion's turkey
.-bingo is_ a- success
The first Turkey Bingo held at the Legion
was well attended by Bingo fans. The last
Bingo will be held this coming. Monday at
7:30 p.m.
On behalf of the Legion, thanks should go
to-John-Lansink and-Randy-Dayman-forth
•.terrific job they did on the Float that was
entered in the Santa Claus parade last Fri-
day night. Legion members were proud of
the entry. The whole parade, which was a
first for a Friday night, must be considered
quite a success and the committeein charge
deserve the thanks of the town. ,
Al Nicholson membership chairman
reports there are quite a few membership
cards ready to be picked up. Anyone who
paid their dues sometime ago please call in
and get your card. The percentage of paid
up early -bird members has now reached 67
per cent. There is now just over three weeks
remaining-in-the-E-arly--Bird campaign--so-
please make an effort as soon as possible to
pay dues.
The Children's Christmas party is.a week.
from this Sunday, December 20 at 2 p.m. If
any of the children would like to sing, dance,
recite or play an instrument please tell Bar-
bara Scott (527-1787) as soon as possible.
The bar roster for this week is as follows:
Glen Chesney Thursday, December 10;
Monday, December 14 K Swan, Tuesday,
December 15 B. Dale, Wednesday,
December 16 and G. Garrick Thursday,
December 17.
Another of Seaforth's First War
Veterans passed away last week at the
age of 91 years. A Legion memorial service
was, held Saturday evening for Dr. Charles,
Toll, by members of the Branch. Dr. Toll
held a Certificate of Merit from the Branch
for his work with his Band. To his wife and
family the Legion extends its deepest sym-
pathies in the loss of a husband and father.
We also lost another Second War Veteran,
John Dorsey last week. Our sympathies are
extended to his family in their loss of a loved
one.
They shall not grow old as we that are left
grow old. Age shall not weary them nor the
years condemn. At the going down of the sun
and in the morning we will Remember

hospital, churches, seniors facilities, com-
munity centres, service clubs and organiza-
tion, Council, almost a dozen committees of
Council (running a municipality — even a
small one in this day and age is big business
— just ask one•of the Councillors). There is
Huron County, at least a half dozen Provin-
cial Ministries with a direct link, the
Heritage Canada Foundation and several
federal departments — who have a role or
who could have a role in Seaforth's
revitalization. But who is going to take the
bull by the horns to get things really
cooking?
Statistics Canada has the answer — you.
Statistics Canada says there are about 2,200
of you out there within Seaforth's urban
area. boundary. Further, the consumer
survey identified there are about 5,500 of
you out there within Seaforth's primary
trade area. Well, from this moment on, all
5,500 of you and anyone else who wants in,
are officially appointed "Seaforth
Economic Development Officers". So, just
before you turn on the T.V., snaffle that beer
cap, or criticize "them" for doing or not do-
ing something -- think about what you are
going to do to promote community develop-
ment
evelopment in Seaforth. "THEY" is you and me,
so let's get'r rolling.
