Maplewood Manor is pleased to•announce

On Monday it yea -back to the Starlight
• Lanes for five pin bowling. This ,year Pete
Tremeer has company. Edgar Allan, Ed An-
• drew;'-'Edna-Lloyd-urid-Imura-Tolt-joined
Pete at trying their hand at the skill of
bowling. ,
Also that afternoon bridge club was held.
Austin Matheson, Winona McDougall, Anne
Crerar and Lloyd Rowatt were out for
bridge.
On Tuesday, the game of euchre was the
drawing card for a group of residents. The
cardplayers were .Austin Matheson, Anne
Henderson, Pete and Willy Tremeer, Ed
Johns, Jean Guy, Anne Crerar and Edgar
•Allan.
' Wednesday morning Rev. and Mrs.
L. • • Vanslyke_led _the worship _service...at
Maplewood. Winona McDougall played the
piano as accompaniment for the hymns.

Wednesday evening Elsie Shaddick and
Karen Dillon tried their luckat Lion's TV
Bingo. . •
• For Thursday mowing sing along we
would like to thank Frs. Fuzz Stewart who
'volunteered her time to play the piano. The
group•that gathered was very proficient at
singing all the favorite Christmas carols.
Friday morning • volunteer. Gail Hills
helped reSidents decorate placecards for the
• upcoming Family Christmas dinner. The in-
terested residents were Anne Crerar, Gertie
Taylor, Pete and Willy Tremeer, May
Habkirk, Matty McGregor, Agnes Hunter,
Jean Johns and Jessie Finlayson.
Friday afternoon it was the ever popular
• bingo. Ruth Bock called the numbers and.
residents Helen Dallas, Gertie Taylor, Ethel
Coleman, Ed Johns, 'Grace Titford, Elide
Shaddick and Anna Sherrin tried their luck.
• Friday afternoon was spent like everyone
else in town, getting ready for the Santa
Claus parade, Thank you to the helpers who
decorated the float and the volunteers who
• rode on it. They were Agnes Hunter, Brian,
_ • Karen, Mike -and Deb Dillon, -Tracey
Miners, Dustin and Darcy McClure, Tracy
Nash and Lynne Robinson and Kathy Bin-
nendyke.. Thank you to volunteers Mary
Chapple and Anne Downey who drove
L residents May Habkirk, Arnold Larnont,
Pete and Willy Tremeer down to
McLaughlin's garage to watch the parade.
Maplewood residents and staff wish to ex-
press sincere sympathy to Mrs. Toll and her
Wilily on the death of her husband. Dr. C:
Toll will be remembered by the community
for his contribution of a great many hours to
volunteeer projects.

ford and Ned Boswell to Maplewood.

chants in Seaforth and Egmontiville who
placed an ad in the future cookbook.
Residents are now collecting recipes forthe
book. If anyone has recipes they would like
to include in the cook book, especially ones
connected with the old, public school in any
• way, please leave them at the office at
Maplewood.

HOSPITAL -AUXILIARY CHRISTMAS BAZAAR-. - Miry Margaret Nash -buys a ticket
from Linda Huard at the Hospital Auxiliary Bazaar on Monday, for a draw on the
gingerbread house. For the first time the bazaar was open to the public this year, and
• it is hoped to be again next year. Tickets are still available for the draw from Francis

Seaforth Manor ladies makes
annual Christmas •pudding
• Monday was ladies baking day at the,
Seaforth Manor when the ladies showed
their culinary skills in making Christmas '
Carrot pudding. It will be served .to all
residents and staff on Christmas Day. .
• Each lady present had a part in the mak-
ing and Frank Smale commented the men
wouldn't help in the making but would be
pleased to do the tasting.
The second Advent Candle lighting ser-
vice was held in the morning with lighting of
the candles by Cassie Nicholson and Mamie
Ross. First and second readers were Frank
Smale. and Patrick Ryan, with Margaret
Smale offering the prayer, Christmas in
Greenland was•told by Mary Finlayson.
Last Tuesday students of Seaforth Public
School assisted in the morning with
sheelchair bowling. On Wednesday worship
service was 'conducted by Rev. Gregory '.
Gilson of St. Thomas Anglican Church.
Winners at Thursday's bingo were: Cassie
Nicholson, Mortimer Mann, Keith Herman
(2), fla Gardner (3), Denis Arney, Doris
Smith, Eva Netzke, Mamie Ross (3),
Marguerite Shill and Margaret Smale.
Friday was the film on Leningrad which
residents enjoyed very much, especially
Elmer Bakesy 'who was a native of
Hungary. • •
