Hallett Township had earlier put a peti- tion before McKillop Township to be endors- ed. The petition was to get farmers in the Bayfield portion of the authority to be able to apply for, and receive grants for, manure storage facilities that farmers in the Ausable portion of the authority were receiving. -As Mr. Prout explained, OMAF will cover 40 per cent of costs for manure storage facilities up to $7,500, but there were extra grants available to farmers in the Ausable watershed: These extra funds were provid- ed by the Ministry of Environment because some beaches in the Ausable watershed had been forced to close for health reasons. To •get the beaches back open the Ministry of Environment made extra funding available to improve manure storage in the water- sheds where beaches were closed. Hallett Township is proposing all farmers in the Conservation Authority be able to get the same grants, but their proposal has yet to be approved. VOUCHER APPROVED The road superintendent's voucher for $9,995.18 was approved for payment as were the general accounts in the amount of $80,828.20. The council also appointed B. M. Ross and Associates Limited to start a bridge study.: The subject will be Grieve's Bridge located on Concession roads 4 and 5, Lot 25. The study will determine how safe the bridge is and what its legal load limitshould be. Tile drainage loans were approved for payment in the amount of $67,300. • • Tax refunds for this year amounted to $381.12 for buildings that were demolished. Bainton's* Old Mill LTD.
