The girls wrote their essay on "What I can do to make the world a better piece." NICHOLAS WAS A VISITOR to St. Col- ,umban School on Friday afternoon, In addi- tion to his helpers from the Franciscan Friars of Mary Immaculate in Clandeboye, St. Nicholas brought stories of his life and the meaning of Christmas, as well as rosaries, holy cards and candy .for the children. CECILIA RYAN . • 345-2028 • Father David Przedwiecid and his 'helpers, Franciscan Friars of Mary Im- maculate, who have taken up residence at St. Peter's Church, Clandeboye just south of Exeter on Highway 4, made a visit to the St. Columban School Children on Friday afternoon. Father David and his helpers were treated to dinner at Ryan's Hard -Up Roost by Ron and Mary and then went over to the St. Columban Church hall where Father David, dressed as St. Nicholas, talked to the children about the life of St. Nicholas, whose feast day is celebrated on December 6. DON MACRAE 345-2842 or 345-2140 The Lions Club of Dublin entertained its children and grandchildren to a Christmas party last Tuesday at the Community -Centre Around 20 children and their dads and grandpas enjoyed a delicious turkey dinner. After dinner they were treated to some films and- later Santa arrived and they ,each received a bag of candy. Wayne Patterson of London visited last, week with his aunt Margaret Carpenter. Millie Evans spent a few -days last week Christmasshopping in . London with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cleary. Friends visiting with Millie Evans for the weekend were Monnie TIMER of Stratford and Linda Hillhorst from Tronto. With Millie on Sunday were her nephew and his wife, Mr. and Mrs. Larry Murray from Brnatford. • Quite a number of children and: their parents from the Dublin area, attended the Seaforth Santa Claus Christmas Parade on • Friday evening.. It was a big success. Con- gratulations to Seaforth for the beautiful turn out of floats. •, Mark Peeling and friend from Meaford visited Grandma and Grandpa MacRae and great Grandma Davison at the Ritz Villa; Mitchell, and also the MacRae children in Dublin. Columban • children believe St. Nicholas appears on the eve of his feast day with gifts for.good boys and girls. Fr. David and his helpers gave each of the children a rosary made by the Friars, holy cards, a candy cane and other treats. PEOPLE ' Tom and Joanne Melady entertained their nieces and nephews with a euchre party on Saturday night. Present were Grandma and Grandpa Melady, Anne and Wayne Chapin, William and Vanessa, Don Melady, Brian Melady, Debbie, Sean and Brian Melady and Kevin, -Lori Lyn and Chris Ryan. Melodee Black of Fergus and Crystal Car- ruthers of Mississauga visited on the weekend with their grandparents Ab and Eileen Cronin. Louise Ryan of Kitchener visited on Sun- day with Clarence and Cecilia Ryan and Mary Jo Nelson of RR 1 Lucknow visited on Friday with th'e Ryans. Cranbrook hosts information meeting Craubrook Correspondent MRS. MAC ENGEL 887-6645 Knox Church Christmas Concert will be held on Tuesday, Dec. 22, in the church. An information meeting was held December 1, in the Cranbrook Community Centre. A number of interested people represented the community and surroun- ding area. Renovations have to be made to the building to meet fire and health depart-- ment standards. After much discussion a show of hands indicated we should proceed with- the proposed renovations.
