Santa Claus in town Oecember 4
• SANTA CLAUS IS COMING TO TOWN on
Friday, December 4 at 6:30 p.m. Don't miss
the annual Santa Claus Parade. The parade
will start at the Arena and go downtown on
Main Street. After the parade the children
can visit Santa Claus and tell him what they
would like for Christmas. The Santa Centre
will be held at 55 Main Street, beside
Phelan's Applianfe Store.
Also on Friday night ttleie will be a re-
enactment of the NATIVITY SCENE at Vic-
toria Park. For more information on 'any of

Seaforth Harmony Hi-Lites present A
CHRISTMAS CABARET Saturday,
December 5, 1987 at the Seaforth and
District Community Centres from 8 to 9 p.m.
It will be a barbership Christmas Show with
the Harmony Kings as guests.
From 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. you will be able to
dance to TRACES. Tickets are $12 for th
show, dance and dinner or $5 for the show
only. Proceeds will go to the Ontario Society
of Autistic Citizens. For tickets call any

The PITTSBURGH PENGUINS VS. THE
DETROIT RED WINGS on Sunday,
January 10. Go watch some exciting NHL
hockey live. Cost for the tickets and a bus
ride to Detroit is only $40. The bus will leave
the Seaforth and District Community Cen-
tres at approximately 1 p.m. and will return
at 12:30 a.m. Tickets are available from Bob
and Betty's Variety Store, any Seaforth
Beaver Oldtime Hockey player or at the
Recreation Office.
Family and Children Services
CHRISTMAS BUREAU is being held at the
Seaforth• Optimist Hall the week of
December 7 to 11 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The
hall will be a drop off location for donations
for the less fortunate children and families.
Anyone wishing to donate some time to knit
some much needed mittens for these same
children, is urged to pick up the wool and a
pattern at the Seaforth Sewing Centre.
Donations of -money, gifts, clothing, food
and even wrapping paper will be accepted.
Novice down Clinton 3-2 in action
On Saturday the Seaforth Novice Team
travelled to Clinton to play a fast paced, ac-
tion packed game.
Clinton was first on the scoreboard with a
quick goal early' in the game, and even
though Seaforth bad many chances the
score retrained 1-0 for Clinton at the end of Now it was the third period • and the

work, managed to slip past the opposing

Cougars take
first in league

The Cougars took over first place in the St.
James Bowling League on Monday,
November 16 when they downed the
Leopards 5-2. Cathy Broome led the way
with 280-687. Don Nolan had 254-+610, Janice
Murray 239-539, and Pat Ryan 215-534. San-
dy Broadfoot with 198.535, Ken Moran
200-533 and Rose Feeney 231-537, were best
for the Leopards.
The Jaguars slipped to second place when
they were edged 5-2 by the Irons. Murray
Bennewies bowled the highest stores of the
season with 262 368, 242 and an 872 triple, to
top the Lions scouting, Laverne Nigh 206-541,
and Brenda Kenny 230539 also helped the
winners. Bruce Clark topped the Jaguar at -
tad with 212., 224.630, Gerry Armstrong
222.522, Albert Boven 198-540 and Shirley
l3rugger 188-535 also howled well. The
Tigers also gained ground in the standings
when they downed the Panthers 5-2. George
Love led the Tigers with 243, 224-637, Karen

The. Seaforth Tweens Ringette team shut
out the St. Marys team in Seaforth 'on Sun-
day, November 22.
The Seaforth team overpowered St.
Marys by scoring four unanswered goals in
the first period and two in the second period
to win 6.0.
