When I carv- ed the mouth. it said It's about time. I was waiting for hours. What'S that. I said it's my • library book. He said I am going to see what it tastes like and he ate it. Lisa McKay's excuse was: "Well I, was sitting in my bedroom when the doorbell • — rang I answered-17nm guy grabbed my book right out of my hand and ran off with it. I called the police but they thought I was ly- ing so that's how I lost my book and I''was just getting to the interesting part. Pam Bennett claims "I was really into this one book I couldn't put it down. I was on a teeter totter one day and the girl on the other end bumped me and the book flew up into the air and a big pellican swallowed it and I never saw it again. Karen Skea says "I' was sitting in .the liv- ing room watching T.V. when.all of a sudden I decided to pick up my book and read it. It was called Alice in Wonderland you know Alice was reading a book. All of a sudden she came out Of the book and grabbed my book and went back inside and that's howl lost my overdue book. • Jessica Burgess' excuse is !'One day a ghost came to my house, and he was invisi- ble and he took the books and he made the books invisible.
