•
Ten members attended the District Com
vention held this past weekend in Owen.
Sound. The Ilistrict extends from Tober-.
mory over to Meaford and south to Exeter
• and east through St. Marys to Galt and north
again to 1Vleaford. hi this District there are
approximately 50 branches with 23,000
members. Zone Cl, to which Seaforth
belongs and which consists of 12 Branches,
had 100 per cent attendance figure. All
• Branches were present. In the Poppy report
presented by Comrade Al Nicholson, Satur-
day, October 31, Poppies would be
distributed to the stores and worn by the
public.•
At the Nevada Seminar held Saturday
afternoon, the rules that pertain to Lotteries
and Nevada tickets were discussed. From
the information received I would say our
Branch is adhering to all the rules that are
laid -down by, the Lottery Act.
Plans for Remembrance ' Day are now
• completed according to Dave Cornish, Pop-
py chairman. Poppies will be in the stores
on Saturday, October 31. The Veterans Ban-
quet is being held on Saturday, November 7.
Tickets are now available. An additional at-
traction this year will be the band of Ian

possible.
There will be a Halloween dance this
Saturday eve at the Branch with a live band.
It is hoped a good, crowd 'of members will
come in costume but those just wishing to
watch will be welcome.
The first evening of darts will be held on
Saturday, November 14 at 8 p.m. There is a
list to 'sign names On the bulletin board for
those wishing to play. It is hoped to have a
good crowd this year. For anyone who has
never played before, it is not a hard gameto
learn for beginners. Remember the old
cliche "Practice makes perfect".
One member of the membership commit-
tee was unintentionally omitted last week,
Larry Broome will also be pleased to accept
Early -Bird dues from any of the members.
Apologies "Skinny".

The boys sure kept trying — everyone of
them kept digging. Chris Marion could only
shake his head when he was sure his shot to
