The St, James Bowling League began the •
1987-80 season on September 14 with a full'
league participating.
The Tigers topped the Lions. 5-2 in their,
'first meeting. of .the .season. George Loge,,
. with a 313 single and a 748 triple, led the
'. Tigers. Jack. Ryan scored 197-473;. Carol
Johnston 150-458; arut Pat Nolan 159-430.
Murray Bennewies was tqp bowler for the
. Lions with singles of 303, 271 and a 793 triple.
Brenda Kenny had 166-464 " and Laverne
'Nigh 159-431.
The Jaguars edged the Cougars 5-2 after
• three, very close games. Albert Hoven had
230-576, Bruce Clark 199-511; Gerry ' Arm-
strong 180.499 and Shirley Bragger 176-469 to
' lead the Jaguars.
Top, bowlers for the Cougars were Cathy
Broome 282-631; Janice Murray . 290-558;

p.m. at the high school,.This will be a 10
week program where participants bring a
small item to work on and are instructed
through the tough spots. The registration fee
will be $25, and the program will begin on
Monday, October 5.
New this year is MEN'S BASKETBALL
by Marc Robinet. It will be held on either
Monday or Thursday evenings starting the
week of October 5 and is intended to give
men a fun night out as well as teach them
some of the basic techniques of basketball.
The registration fee will be $30 for 20 weeks,
10 before and 10 after Christmas.
A BASIC MICROWAVE COOKING course
will provide instruction in microwave
techniques for those who have a microwave
oven, as well as those considering the pur-
chase of one. Learn how a microwave oven
works and some hints on successful cooking
and the safety of microwave ovens. This will
be a three-week course starting Tuesday,
October 6 and will be held at the high school.
The registration fee will be $20, which in-
cludes all food. •

Terri Dale will be held on Wednesday even-
ings from 8 to 10 p.m. at the high school star-
ting October 7. This .program allows for a
fun night out for both males and females and
also gives instruction in volleyball. The
registration fee will be $30 for 20 weeks 110

The Seaforth and District RINGETTE
ASSOCIATION has decided NOT to run
power skating this year. The next meeting
for Ringette will be held Tuesday, October 5
at 7:30 p.m. at the arena. For more informa-

The Seaforth SENIORS GAMES will be
having its annual POTLUCK SUPPER on
Monday, September 28 starting at 6 p.m. at
the Community Centres. Anybody who par-
ticipated in the Games back in Apriil and
May is welcome to come. Everybody that
comes is asked to bring a dish of food and
their own cutlery.
STORY HOUR begins at the Seaforth
Library on Saturday, October 3 from 1:30 to
