The competitors wrote a quiz and an essay during a day long educational program at U.B.I. headquarters near Guelph on July 30. • Showmanship and calf conformation will complete the four part competition on August 22 at Erin Fairgrounds. There are however quite a few annual events that will be earning up this fall. The Aged Veterans banquet, which in- cludes all First War Veterans and the Veterans over 70 from the second War and the Korean War, will be hosted at Clinton on Saturday September 26. Anyone wishing to go please phone Jim Watson,Gordon Scott or Cleave Coombs. Bowling and Darts will be starting the end of the month as usual but there will be more on this later. National Legion week begins on September 13 and rims to September 19. Anyone wishing a tour of the Branch during this week please drop in and browse around. There are many artifacts in the show Win- dows worth viewing with many pictures of Veterans, both deceased and living. There is a rumor dragging around that the Membership Chairman is re -activating his membership eornenittee. This must mean the Start of the "Earlybird Cam- paign" again.
