On Wednesday, Sept. 2, many relatives
and neighbors gathered in the St. Columban
Parish Hall for a bridal • shower to honor
Marlene O'Reilly, who will be married to
Ken Luyten on October 3, 1987.
Guests attended from London, Poplar
Hill, Thorndale, St, Marys, Stratford, Bor-
nholm, Mitchell, Seaforth and Dublin area.
Tim and Rose Kvaas and children of Fair-
view, Alberta spent a week recently visiting
w.ith.James_and-Mary-O'Connor-and-attend-
ed the wedding of Maureen DeGaunt and
Michael Kan in Toronto on Saturday,
August 29.

for a few days in Eastern Ontario and
Quebec visiting with Jim and Eileen Greer

and Ina Finlayson, have returnee from a
motor trip to the eastern provinces.

Fair competition on Friday. evening: She
was sponsored by the Staffa Women's
Institute.
Correspondent details trip to Winnipeg

Sorry I had no news in last week as we
were on holidays to Winnipeg. Don had a
Postmasters and Assistants Association
Convention at the Westin Hotel, Winnipeg.
Upon arrival, we were treated to a one -
and -a -half hour boat cruise down. the Red
River which included dinner and dancing.
While in Winnipeg I had a great reunion
with an old • girlfriend Agnes Lucary,
formerly Agnes Hart of 'Mitchell, and we
spent two extra days with Agnes and her
husband Ed.
Our 'Get Well Prayers' go out once again

Relatives and friends of Carol Miller,
whose marriage takes place later this
month, gathered in Cromarty Church last
Tuesday evening and presented her with
many useful and beautiful gifts. She was
assisted in opening them by her sister,
Marilyn Witschi and her cousin, Linda
Pullman.
' Relatives of Bill and Ina (Jefferson)
Laidlaw, Dorchester, met at Blake Conser-
vation Area on Sunday afternoon to present
them with a gift in honor of their 20th' wed-
- ding anniversary. Attending from Cromarty
' were Bob, Ruth and Eva Laing.
Agnes Lamond, Annie Norris and Ruth
' Laitlg" attdiided the ' August 'meeting of
Auburn Presbyterian Womeris Missionary
Society when greetings from the Stratford -
Huron Presbyterial were brought by Mrs.
Laing. Mrs. Lamond was guest speaker,
describing what she had seen on her visit to
China last fall.
Some of the high school graduates have
begun their college courses with Dennis
Johns and Dennis Elliott going to Fan-
shawe, Roger Fell to Centralia, and Tom
Laing to the marine and small engines
course at the Ashtonbee Campus of Centen-
nial College in Toronto.
Cromarty Presbyterian Sunday. School
will resume on September 13 at 10 a.m. All
children in the community are welcome and
the superintendent, Mrs. Larry Gardiner
would appreciate hearing from anyone to
teach either full or part-time.

seriously ill in Stratford Hospital.
Ed Stapleton has returned from Edmon-
ton, where he spent two months with his
daughter Pauline and husband Ron Agar
and family. They toured the Western United
States including Las Vegas.
Marvin Benninger from Hornpayne spent
a few days with Hugh and Ann Benninger.
Mr. and Mrs. Hugh Benninger and Mr.
and Mrs. Tom Simonsen (Rose Ann) attend-
ed the wedding of their son and brother Ben •
to Mary Lynn French, Harriston. The wed-
ding was in 'Kitchener. Little Tommy
Simonsen was ring bearer for his Uncle Ben.
Orval Davidson, Toronto,. is spending a
few days with Don and Eileen .MacRae
(Eileen's brother). Our mother, Ada David-
son, Ritz Villa in Mitchell, also was with us
for a visit and dinner one evening.
