Maplewood resident are
already preparing for winter
• Rain, vain go away and come -back
another day.
The rainy weather has appeared but now
we are having some trouble getting rid of it.
The first part of the week came in cool
which ' caused one of the residents of
Maplewood Manor to try on her new winter
coat to make sure it fit. At least she is ready
• and accepting the cooler weather for better
or worse.
• Bridge players got together at Maplewood
for a while on Menday. •The participants
were Jean Johns, Anne Crerar, . Austin
• Matheson and Lloyd Rowat. A great -way to
spend a rainy day.
On Tuesday euchre seemed to get quite ,a
few of ,the residents together. If ..the
residents voted, euchre • would probably
come out as the winner of the most enjoyed.
activity. The players for this afternoon were
Pete Tremeer, Wilson Tremeer, Anne Rule,
Anne Henderson, John Pullman, Jean
Elliott, Austin Matheson, Elsie Shaddick,
Edgar Allan, Lloyd Rowat and Isa Stanley.
Wednesday was such a dreary day the
residents pent a relaxing day inside, either
resting or doing another activity to help
pass the gme. •
The.voices were really in tune Thursday
for the entertainment suppled by Mr. and
Mrs. Lobb. Mrs. Lobb played the electric
• keyboard and helpedresidentssing along.
Mr. Lobb sang too and also recited a couple
of prayers.
Thursday afternoon Drusilla Leitch was
in for the exercise classes, The regulars who
show up each week really enjoy these ses-
sions. Itseems to give them a change front
what they are accustomed to doing.
On Friday the residents and staff
gathered in the kitchen for a good old day of
preparing chili sauce: The assistant cooks
for the day were Helen Dallas, Gertie
Taylor. Arnold Lamont, Jean Elliott, Anria
Sherrin and Edgar Allan.
• On Saturday a game of bingo was arrang-
ed for the residents. The bingo players were
Pete Tremeer, Wilson Tremeer, Annie Rule,
Gertie Taylor, Agnes Hunter, Jean Guy,
Grace Holland, Anne Crerar, Elsie Shad -
dick and Isa Stanley.
• The staff and residents at Maplewood
• would like to say goodbye^ to Michelle
Braecker and to Grace Holland. Michelle
worked inthe kitchen on her work term and
• is now returning to school. Mrs. Holland was
a resident for a short time and is now leav-
ing to live in Florida. •
Residents would also like to welcome
Jessie Finlayson back from the Seaferth
Community Hospital.
