ELVA PUL AN
Elva Pullman, of Seaforth died Thursday,
August 27, 1987 at the Seaf rth Community
Hospital., She was 82;
Born at Seaforth on July 4, 1905, she was
a daughter of the late Tho as Habkiris and
the former Bertha Grieve, '
She had worked as a nirse and was a
member of the Seaforth Rebekah Lodge and
the Loyal Orange Lodge. '
Surviving are her husband John Pullman,
two sons, Gordon of Seaforth and Ronald of
Calgary, Alberta; one sister Lenore Hud-
' dleston of Mississauga; six grandchildren
and three great-grandchildren.
Friends were received at the. Whitney-
Ribey Funeral Home, Seaforth and a
funeral service was, held Saturday. Burial
—was-in-Maitlandbank-cemetery.
WILLIAM ARTHUR WRIGHT
William Arthur (Art) Wright of John-
S.treet;. Seaforth, died Thursday, August 27,
1987 at the Clinton Public Hospital. He was
81.
Born at Listowel he was a son of the late
Alfred •Wright and the ., former .Mary
McNeill. - •
He had owned and operated Wright's
Groceries in Seaforth and .started the first
self -serve store' there. He was 'a Co -Op In-
surance agent for 14 years until his retire-
ment in 1959.
Surviving are his wife, the former Gladys
Ducklow; two sons, Donald . and wife
Marilyn of Clinton and Doug and wife Wen-•
dy of Ottawa and grandchildren David,
• Paul, Rhonda. and Scott of Clinton and Wade
and Jarrett of Kanata.
Mr. Wrightwas predeceased by one son
• Hardld Wayne; two sitters, Jenny Vines and
Beatrice`Knipe'and two brothers in infancy.
Visitation was held at the Whitney-Ribey
Funeral Home, Seaforth and a funeral ser-
vice and committal was held Monday. The
Reverend James Vanslyke officiated.
Burial took -place in the family plot at
Fairview Cemetery, Listowel on Tuesday. at
10:30 .' a.m. Friends came from. Sarnia,
Grand Bend, London, Markdale, Waterloo,
Stratford, Kitchener, . Listowel, Windsor,
Kincardine and Mitchell.
ELLA NORA HOEGY
Ella Nora Hoegy, of the Mitchell Nursing
Home and formerly of Seaforth. and
McKillop Township, died at her residence on
Tuesday, August 25, 1987. She was 91.
Born in Ellice Township en May 7, 1896
she was a daughter of the late Julius Doerr
and the former Anna Kalbfleisch. She mar-
ried Frederick George Hoegy on June 20,
1917. Following their marriage the couple
farmed at Lot 9, Concession 8 of McKillop
Township before retiring to Seaforth in 1955.
Mrs. Hoegy had resided in Mitchell since
1980..She..was a foriner..member of the
Evangelical 'United Brethren. ,Church
McKillop Township and • a member of the
Bethel Bible Church in Egmondville and the
W.A. of the church.
Surviving are two sons, Wilbur and his
wife Norma of Brodhagen and Lavern and
his wife Greta of RR 1 Dublin; two
daughters, Evelyn Kleber of the Ritz Manor
Apartments, Mitchell and Leotta her hus-
band Edwin MacKenzie of Warren,
Michigan.
Also surviving are two sisters, Priscilla
(Mrs. Edward Knechtel) of the Ritz
Lutheran Villa, Mitchell and Ethel
Readhead of Waterloo; 20 grandchildren; 42
great grandchildren and two great great
grandchildreri.
Mrs. Hoegy was predeceased by her hus-
band in 1958, a son-in-law Gordon Kleber'in
1984, two sisters and three brothers.
Friends were received at the Lockhart
Funeral Home in Mitchell and a funeral ser-
vice was held there on Friday with the
Reverend Wm. Milne of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Mitchell officiating. •
Flower bearers were John Beimers, Lyle
Hoegy, Paul Kleber, Randy Smithers and
Bradley MacKenzie.. Pallbearers were
Maynard, Wayne and Douglas Hoegy, Roy
Kleber, Ronald and Gregory MacKenzie -
all grandchildren. Interment was in Zion
McKillop Cemetery, McKillop Township,
Expressions of sympathy were shown
through floral tributes and memorial dona-
tions to the Heart and Stroke Foundation,
Canadian Cancer Society, Stratford General
Hospital Building Fund, Gideon Bibles,
Canadian Diabetes Association, SL: Peter's
Improvement Fund, World Hunger,
Memorial Fund of First Lutheran Church
and the Auxiliary of the Mitchell Nursing
Home. i
MARY JANE KUNZ
Mary Jane'Kunz of Seaforth died Sunday,
August 23. 1987 at Victoria Hospital in Lon-
don. She was 69.
Born in Ishpeming, Michigan qn April 26,
1917, she was the daughter of John Dorsey
and May Williams.
She lived in Stratford and in 1940 she
graduated from St. Michael's School of Nur-
sinrgin Toronto. After graduation she moved
to Chicago, Illinois where she nursed at St.
Joseph's Hospital.
On February 18, 1050 in Chicago, she mar-
ried John Peter Kunz. They raised had
children, Mary Anne (Mrs. William
McGartti) of Acton, Mary Theresa (Mrs.
Thomas Hepburn) of London, Joanne (Mrs.
Jerome Aublii) Of London and Williain Kunz
of London.
hi 1968 • Ml's. Kunz returned to live
Seaforth where she continued to nurse, both
at Seaforth Hospital and the Seaforth
Manor.' She retired in 1980.
Along with her- husband and children,
Mrs. Kunz is survived by one brother, Jack
Dorsey of LondOi arid 10 grandchildren.
Rev. Frank Moylan conducted the August
26 funeral services. Pallbearers were Jelin
Ball, Gary B`ettles, Tom 17evereaux, Pat
Malone, Art McNaughton and Der Sills. In=
terment *as bald at St. James Cemetery.
Ball' and Falconer Box Funeral Chapel
made the funeral arrangements.
Friends were received at the Ball and
Falconer "Box Funeral Chapel" in Seaforth
and a funeral mass was held at St. James
Roman Catholic Church, Seaforth August 26
at 11 a.in Intertrient St. James Cemetery.
Prayers were held at the fttneral borne oft
August 25. .
WILBERT (BERT) GARRETT
Wilbert (Bert) Stanley Garrett, of Clinton,
died in St. •Joseph's Hospital, London, on
August 16. He. was 69 years old.
Mr. Garrett wasborn in Mullett Township
on March 12, 1918 to the late Newman and
Mabel.(Vodden) Garrett. On June 19, 1943
he married the former Rosamond Appleby
• in Seaforth. Following their marriage, they
farmed in Tuckersmith ToWnship until 1959
when they sold the'farm and .moved to
Clinton.
Mr, Garrett Is survived by one daughter,
Eileen and her husband Roert Munn of Lon-
don; two grandchildren, Jennifer and Susan
Munn and his Stepmother, Mrs. Newman
(Evelyn) Garrett of Eginondville.
T;HE HURON EXPOSITOR,
He is survived by two sisters, Mrs. War-
ren (Irene) Whitmore and Mrs. Alden (Er-
ma) Crich both of Clinton, and one brother,
Frank Garrett of Chesley.
Mr, Garrett was predeceased by his
parents and wife.
A funeral and committal ice was held
on August 19 at. Balland ll Boner Funeral.
Home with Rev, James Bechtel officiating.
Interment in Clinton Cemetery.
A Rebekah Lodge service was also held at
the funeral home. •
MURRAY WILLIAM MILLER
A' Goderich Township native and lifetime
area resident, Murray William Miller of
Clinton died in Victoria Hospital, London on
August 26. He was 6Q.
The son of the • late Arnold Raymond
Miller and Florence. Elizabeth Lawson, he •
was born on May 16, 1927:
He worked as a cement finisher and was
active in sponsoring hockey and baseball
teams in' Clinton.
He was married to Phyllis Hoy on May 14,
'1949 in Clinton..
Along with his wife,, Mr. Miller is survived
by one son, Robert and his wife Valerie and
two •grandchildren; Marsha and Jon Miller.
He is also survived by a brother Keith Miller
. of RR 2 Bayfield.
Funeral services were held on August 29 •
at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home,
Clinton. Rev. James Bechtel officiated and
interment was held at the Clinton Cemetery.
The flower bearers were Reg Miller and
Ross Miller, Pallbearers were Bruce Miller,

• Mr. Cardiff spoke about his role • as

Young Offender's Act.
Mr. • Peters spoke of the -importance of
youth in the Conservative party and in
government. '
