A surprise birthday celebration was held
for George Coyne of the Ritz Lutheran Villa '
. at the home of his brother Matt Coyne, RR 2
-Dublin.
Relatives with George for his 83rd birth-
day Were his sisters Alicia Coyne from
Smith's Nursing Home, Mitchell,. Florence
Kohue and "Sister" Agnes Coyne from
Chatham as' well as Mary . Kroskie of
x, Windsor.

out to Lorne,Feeneq and family on the death
of his brother-in-law and uncle Gregory
Bader of Detroit.
- Don and I are pleased to announce the
marriage of Nora Ann (Don's daughter) to
Mr. Ian Jackson of London on Saturday,
August.8 in London.
Attending the Garden' Party following
their marriage from Dublin were Don and
Eileen MacRae, her brother Mike and
Patricia Kurji, Marti, Denise (D.D.I and
Joe MacRae and her brother J.D. and Marg
and Jennifer and Ian MacRae from London.
Also attending were Aunt Rita Gooding,
London, and Uncle Al and Aunt Ann from
Sarnia Ian's mother, Mrs, Jackson from
Embro, as •well as sisters and brothers,
nieces and nephews from..Toronto, London
and district also attended. Mr. amd Mrs, Ir-
vin Schneider also attended.
A smorgasbord evening meal was
prepared and served by their friends in Lon-
don at their home on Clifton Crescent in
London.
- Those Murray brothers had another card
party at the Mayor's place in Dublin. Two
came from McKillop, one from Logan, one
from Kitchener and one from Waterloo
Saturday, August 22.
The Mayor was -away to Zurich at the
Bean Festival at the time and when he came ..
home around 10 p:m. he found his house all
lit up. He thought for a minute he was in the
wrong laneway, but when he came into the
kitchen he found his five • brothers and a
cousin playing cards. Well, what a night
from then on.
The fellow with the last inital ".M" lost,
along with the oldest and the second
youngest brothers, and let the writer of this
story down. Guess who? He said it would
never have happened if he was playing.
Anyway, the trimmings and the pizza
were enjoyed by all and they all got home
just in time for breakfast and church.

'The Elliott clan gathered for their family
reunion on the civil holiday weekend at the
home of Frank and Caludette Elliott, Staffa.
One hundred and 23 relatives arrived, many
camping for the. weekend in Frank's
backyard, others corning just for the day.
Activities included games, cards and
fellowship, with everyone enjoying a pot
luck dinner; barbecue, corn and wiener
roast.
Relatives attended from Sarnia,
Michigan, London, Lambeth, Glanworth,
. Thorndale, New York State,"Hamilton, Kit-
chener, Waterloo, Clinton, Seaforth, Dublin,
Staffa, Mitchell, St. Marys, Sebringville,
Stratford and Hensall.

Staffa Women's Institute members and
guest enjoyed the play "Bordertown" at the
Blyth Memorial Theatre last Monday
evening.
PEOPLE
Many young people from the Staffa com-
munity participated. in ball tournaments at
Exeter and Cromarty ball parks last
weekend. -
A joint service for Cromarty and Staffa
church congregations was held in the Hib-
bert United Church on Sunday with Pastor
Debbie Hoekstra in charge of the service.
Joyce Fell favored with • a solo, accom
panied by Mrs, Elmer Dow.
-Doris Miller and Roberta Templeman
visited last Tuesday with their sister Jean
Mauer, a patient in Victoria. Hospital,
London. .
Mr, and Mrs. Don Coburn, from Mouth of
Keswick, New Brunswick, visited on Friday
with John and Roberta Templeman.
Murphys hold family get together

Bill and Luella Murphy and family held a
family get together at their home on Sunday
afternoon.
Attending the gathering were: Mary
Moylan, Father Frank Moylan, Janos and
Catherine (Moylan) Janossy of
family, Sister Jean Moylan of Windsor and
Gordon and Kathryn Moylan of St. Mary's.
' It was a very enjoyable afternoon of
reminiscing followed by dinner.
Clare and Marie Oldham of London
visited on Sunday with Gerry and Karen
Ryan and family.
Gary and Joanne Schleen of London and
Reg Swart of Barrie visited on the weekend
