Ontario farmers will be mailed enrolment forms, brochures and application forms about mid-August for an Ontario farm grant for management safety, machinery repairs and feed storage. The $2,500 grant program runs from June 1, 1987 to May 31, 1988. Total funding is limited. to $50 Million: Farmers submitting records for the farm enterprise' analysis section can receive up -to $300. Eligible safety items such as fencing of existing ponds and manure pits, ladder cages, roll bars, safety cabs. shields. protec- tive clothing, warning systems, child - resistant fenced play areas and first-aid kits - are funded at 80 percent,. Also included are the elimination of derelict structures and the filling in of unused wells. Invoiced labour is eligible in this section. Under the repairs category, a farmer can apply for a grant covering;half the cost of replacement parts for field machinery, and for specified farm shop equipment. Labour cost is not eligible in this section. Barn equipment parts are not eligible. Glanvilles unit The 35th Glanville reunion was held July 12 at Seaforth Lions Park with approximate- ly 70 people attending. As each personarriv- ed they received a 1987 lucky penny and signed their name to the guest Iist. • The day started with a swim, a short fun filled ball game and sports. Guests came from as far away as London, Chatham, Harrison reunion at Brucefield The 52nd Harrison Reunion was held at the Huron Centennial School in Brucefield on July 4, 1987 with 52 in attendance. The Sports Conunittee in charge was Marilyn Beechy, Deb Jamieson and Della Bennett, They provided games and races for children of all ages., A bountiful smorgasbord supper was then served. After dinner various prizes were awarded with Herb Taylor of Goderich being . the oldest person, present, Steve Collins the youngest, Hazel Collins coming the farthest, Leanne Jamieson with a birthday closest to July 4 and Tom and Marilyn Beechy with ani anniversary nearest July 4. Tom Beechy guessed the contents of a jar. A raffle on a lawn chair was held with the winner being Bud Hunt of London. The election of officers was then held with the following for the executive for 1988: President, Bud Hunt; Secretary -Treasurer, Amy Hunt; Directors - Jerry and Diane Neilands, Joanne Smith and Tim Airdrie; Sports Committee, Marilyn Beechy, Deb Jamieson and Della Bennett. It was then decided to 'hold the 1988 reu- nion at the Brucefield School again, but the date has been changed to the second Satur- day in June at 2 p.m. BIRTHS AURIN - Joanne and Jerome are pleased to announce the safe arrival of their son Mat- thew John, born July 9, 1987 at Victoria Hospital, London, weighing 8 lbs., 15 ozs. Next year's executive is President Loin Glanville, Vice President Gordon Miller, Secretary -treasurer Marjory Horst and Games, Betty Glanville. OBITUARIES IVY K. SCOTT Ivy K. Scott of Huronview, Clinton and formerly of Seaforth died Friday, July 17, 1987. ' The former Ivy Dewberry she is survived =by her sons, Gordon of Seaforth, Douglas of Kitchener, James of Cambridge and Robert of Smithville. Also surviving are; one sister Florence Stout of England, 26 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. • She was predeceased by • her husband James T. Scott in 1960 and by a son Arnold in 1972. The family received friends at the Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home and a funeral service was held Monday. Interment Maitlandbank Cemetery, Seaforth. MARY CLOTILDA ANN MALONEY Mary Clotilda Ann Maloney of Dublin died Friday, July 17, 1987 at Stratford General Hospital. She was 83. The former Clotilda Eckert she Is surviv- ed by her husband Peter Maloney; daughters, Theresa (Mrs. Harold Mederah) of Kitchener and Joan (Mrs. Jack Hagarty) of Guelp; and sons, John of Seaforth, Frank of Kitchener, Louis and Stephen, both of Dublin and Vincent James of Mitchell. Also surviving are 30 grandchildren and one sister, Lucy Siemon of Brodhagen. Mrs. Maloney was predeceased by two daughters, Margaret (Mrs. Pat O'Rourke) and Mary (Mrs. Leonard Morrison); one son. Peter; five brothers; one sister and two grandchildren. A Mass •of the Christian burial was held Monday at St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church, Dublin. Interment St. Columban Cemetery. The bride is the daughter of John and Nellie Jansen, and the groom is the son of Tom and Madeline Murray, all of Seaforth. Maid of honor was Wilma Hender- son, of Stratford, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Marilyn Wylie of Kit- chener, sister of the &loom, Mary Murray of Yellowknife, sister of the groom, Joan Bridge of Seaforth, friend of the bride, and Maureen McIver of London, friend of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Tricia Jansen, of Dublin, niece of the bride. Best man was Neil Murray of Seaforth, brother of the groom. Guests were ushered by Mark Murray, of Seaforth, brother of the groom, Bob Jansen of Seaforth, brother of the bride, Kevin Shea of Seaforth, friend of the groom, and Lou Arts, of Keswick, friend of the groom. Organist was Carol Carter of Seaforth and soloists were Jayne Delaney .and Ruth McCreight of Dublin. Following a reception at the Seaforth and District Com- munity Centres, the couple took a wedding trip to the Western province. They will reside at R.R, 5, Seaforth.
