The softball season is into its second half
and the teams are doing well. Come out to.a •
game some evening and cheer on the home_
town team.
'TAYLOR PICNIC
The annual Taylor' picnic was held at
".Golden Acres", the farm of Ross and Don-
na Corbett on Saturday, July 4 with 75 in at-
rtendahce, as well as two guests. ..

dridge, Gravenhurst, Hamilton, Newton-
ville and London as well as the local area.
A good ball game was enjoyed. by all ages
as well as sports, races and a game of kick
the slipper.
Weekend guests were Connie Taylor and
recent. great-grandparents Ross and Ina
Brown.

High Ladies scores. for Thursday, July 9
was able to attend a surprise baby shower
for Brenda and Natalie at the home of Susan
Hartman, Mrs. McCourt returned to Ottawa
en Monday, July 13 but expects a visit from
the Hensall trio in the falls '

Hensall tourist informaiton booth is now
open in the new quarters of Hensall Village
offices. The booth will be open weekdays

Albert St. residents bid farewell to Gary
and Liz Moore and sons Jason and Erik 'as
they leave this week for their new home in
West Lorne. Charles and Karen Greenhill
and family will be taking up residence later
this month.
WELCOMED VISIT
A welcomed visit by grandmother Me -
Court of Ottawa took place last week at the
home of Brenda and Grey Pulham. The hot
spell kept everyone close to home with plen-
ty of time to rock the baby. While:here she

The Kippen Gun Club cancelled its meet
on Tuesday, July 7 in memory of John
Anderson who passed away Monday, July 6,
1987, .John. Anderson had been an avid .
shooter in the Kippen Gun Club for many
years. Sympathy of the community is ex-
tended to his wife Helen and family.
The Kippen community also extends sym-
pathy to Betty Upshall and family on the.
death of Betty's father John Shea, who pass-
ed away on Tuesday, July 7. .
Queensway drawing club focuses on summer
On Monday afternoon the Queensway,
Dria,Wippg Club met for its monthly drawing
expedition. This month it focused on sum-
mei,/1und what it means individually.`Well,
residents came up with all sorts. of neat
ideas, but all the drawings had a common
therne, sand and water - the beach!
Tuesday morning residents all got
together for morning exercises which really
held them to wake up. Then in the afternoon
Mr, Stojkovic Caine in at2 pm for the Weekly
church service. Mr. Stojkovic was accom-
panied on the' piano by his wife, Jill
Stojkovic.
Wednesday morning the Ladies. Auxiliary
met at 10 am to discuss several things for
the month of July. Then in the afternoon
Ladies Hour took place. at 2 pm.. Several of
the ladies at Queensway got together for
hand massages, make up makeovers, a cup
of tea and a good time.

The 'following afternoon the Men's Club
got together. The gentlemen of Queensway ,.
played several friendly competitive games.
One outstandinggame was the two and one II
half hour euchre game!
On Friday afternoon it' was once again
time for the, Sharing of Stories. Because of
the incredible humidity, this activity was
' held inside. There was a terrific turnout and
ail that attended shared some very in-
teresting stories.

The Forester's were awarded third prize
for their float at Brussels, July 4. Many
fermi the area attended.the 115th birthday
celebration and .renewed acquaintances
under ideal weather. Many hours of plann-
ing and work go into these celebrations and
Brussels is to be congratulated.
Mr, and Mrs. John Vanass, .Jennifer,
,Iolanda, arid Darryl enjoyed a week's holi-
day in Quebec and Eastern Ontario. They
also visited Mr. and Mrs. R. Nyssen near
Cornwall..
Mr. and Mrs. Angus Starr, Alliston, were
weekend visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Don
Cotton. •
,t rank and Mrs, Workman, Craig and
Peter had a two week trip to B.C., Van-
couver Island, Edmonton and Calgary.
They took in. the stampede and visited
relatives in Alberta.
Verna Myers, -her daughter, son-in-law
and two children, of Windsor, visited Ida
Gordon, MF•s. Myers is the former Verna
Hunter, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Irvine
Hunter. and attended Cranbrook school.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Clark, -Stratford, and
Mrs. Ron Burdett and Brent Waterloo, at-
tended the celebration on Sunday and
visite.(( Mrs. Mac Engel.
Congratulations to Marie Perrie on
achieving an average of aur 91 per cent, the
highest in her grade. Marie plans to attend

Brock University in St. Catharines. She is age 66. She had been in poor health for
the daughter of Mrs, Donald Perrie, 12th sometime. Surviving is her husband, one
Con. daughter Ruth of Oshawa and son Fred of '
Cranbrook resident Mrs. M. Burghardt Syracuse, New York and John of Kitchener
died July 7 at Listowel Memorial Hospital, and two grandchildren.
