Mary kis a graduate of Goderich District Collegiate In- stitute and Stratford Teachers' College. She is presently -a teacher on the staff of Seaforth Public School. . KINDERGARTEN GRADUATION -The Kindergarten class at Seaforth Public School `'- recently graduated into Grade 1 in an exciting ceremony complete'With magic dragon. Blake photo Maplewood is the scene of two dinner -hour parti•es.. • ',This week• at Maplewood Manor the residents and staff held two. dinner -hour parties along with the usual activities. On Monday at the, supper hour the residents presented a -wedding gift to one of the staff members Tracey Bradshaw. Her wedding, to which we were all invited, took• place on Saturday, June 27..Congratulations were expressed from all the residents. Tuesday was euchre day. He was nice to have visitors from the Seaforth Manor join in the euchre games. Those who came were Marg Smale, Mamie Ross, . Elfie Sykes, Cassie Nicholson, and staff member Mrs. Barber. After the euchre five draws for door prizes were made. The winners of the prizes. which were "Handy items", were Ed John, Pete ,Tremeer, Elva Pullman, Elsie Shaddick and Mamie .Ross: Lunch was then served. The cherry bread for the lunch had been donated by Monica McCurdy. Thank 4 PATRICIA ANNE COLEMAN, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Coleman, RR 4 Seaforth, graduated on June 11, 1987 from the University of Western Ontario with a B.A. in French. Patty is a former graduate of , Central Huron Secondary . School and Huron Centennial Public School: She will be attending. the Faculty of Education at the University of Windsor in September. BARB TEMPLEMAN, daughter of John and Roberta Templeman, St • rra, graduated this past week from. tri 'wiled and Creative Arts Division of Ht. .,ter College, Toronto in Public Relations. Barb received her early education at Upper Thames Elementary School and Mitchell and District High School. BARBARA ANN ECKERT, youngest daughter of Joe and Olga Eckert of Dublin graduated from Conestoga College of Ap- plied Arts and Technology, Kitchener with a Business of Administration Accounting diploma, at the Spring Convocation June 13, 1987. A student of Seaforth District High School and ItuYon Centennial School Robert is tsow stationed at Wain- wright, Alberta awaiting a future 4 outse. you to volunteer Marjorie Maloney for h•er help. - ' On Wednesday morning- Marlene Price from the Huron County Health Care •Unit came to Maplewood' to give.foot care to any new residents or any folks who were having problems withtheir feet. It is such a tremen- dous help and all the residents enjoy,the ser- vice provided. Thursday at the noon hour meal a going away party was held for Ethel Sallows. Ethel isgoing to. Exeter to live with -her daughter. She was given a book signed by all the residents and staff. A pink corsage and a special cake were also part of the party to wish'her all the best in her new home. Thursday afternoon Drusilla Leitch led -the fitness class, The enthusiastic group • again did .their exercises with smiles and • chuckles. The lively music sets the mood and Drusilla sets the tempo,. Players were Gertie Taylor, Agnes Hunter, Pete and Willy Tremeer; Ise Stanley, Edgar Allan, Edna 'Lloyd and Anna Sherrin. Next week Winners wilt be noted but this weekit was all for fun. The residents who were spectators added to the" fun with their cheers and comments. Gail Hills and her daughters Sasha and Niki Were in charge of the event, Everyone's looking forward to next Friday's game.
