Seaforth Legion Ladies Auxiliary was given
its Charter by Ontario 13rovincial
Command,
There' were 31 ladies inniated as Charter,
Members and at that time Seaforth Aux-
iliary was in the Zone with Stratfordiand'the
Zone Commander was Dorothy Hoyle,
Jessie Cameron was the first President.
Last Sunday, June 14 the Men of the

Klaver, son of Herman and Elizabeth Klaver;

35TH ANNIVERSARY - Members of the Seaforth Legion Ladies Auxilliary celebrated
their 35th anniversary over the weekend. Cutting the anniversary cake were Evelyn

Auxilliary celebrate 35th •
-This year, being. the Ladies Auxiliary's
35th anniversary of its formation back in
1952, the members feted them to a banquet
on Sunday past.
The auxiliary has contributed each year
both financially and bodily to the well being
of the Branch. Many of the improvements to
the hall have been the result of the hard
work of the ladies Auxiliary. On behalf of
the membership the Legion offers con-
gratulations and thanks for the many years
of dedication and service to the Legion and
what it stands for. It is hoped there will be a
strong and dedicated Ladies Auxiliary for
the Branch in years immediately ahead of
us.
This coming Saturday, June 20, the Men's
annual Golf Tournament is being held at the
local golf club. By the number of entries on

Final plans were made for the visit to
Huronview on June 17 to entertain the
residents for their June birthday party.
Members are to meet at the Club Rooms at
12:45 p.m.
On June 25 the members Will be going to
Iluronview for a luncheon• and
entertainment.
There will be no meeting during July and
August. The September meeting will begin
With a potluck supper at 6:30 p.m.
KIDS PLAY
As suttuner rolls around, the Village of
Hawaii is providing a supervised "Creative
Kids Play" program at the playground.
The program will run for six consecutive
weeks beginning July 6 from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m.
for children from the ages of5-13.
Swimming lessons in Vanastra will again
be offered to those who are interested.
A lot of exciting activities have been plan-
ned for a summer filled with'lots of fun and.
creatitiity.
Throughout the program the children will
be involved in a drama production which
will be presented at the end of the season to
their family and friends.
Registration for both the playground pro-
gram and swirmidng lessons will be held at
the Hensall and District Community Centre
on Thursday June 25 from 5:30 - 9 p.m,

Listowel spent a few days with her brother-
in-law and sister, Wilfred and Mrs.
Strickler.
Kate McNabb, Listowel, visited Mr. and
Mrs. Ken MacDonald on the weekend;
the board, it should be a very successful
day. For tee -off times please contact Mel

Thereis an Honors and Awards banquet to
be held on June 27. There will be a social
hour from 6 to 7 p,m., then dinner will be
served. All members and their wives or
husbands are invited to attend. Tickets are
only five dollars per person.
The Legion Pee -Wee baseball team was
entered in a tournament at Goderich recent-
ly but unfortunately were on the losing end
of the score. Better luck next time:

was a ladies beige rain coat left at the hall.

The Hensall and District Horticultural
Society enjoyed a trip on June 8th to the•
Rose Garden in Windsor's Jackson Park.
The group of 42 from Hensall and area stop-
ped for lunch at "The Other Place" in Wind-
sor followed by a jaunt to Collo Winery in
Harrow for a tour and wine -tasting. After a
visit to Colasanti Gardens in Ruthven they
wound up the evening with a tour of the
facilities and dinner at Wheel's Inn in
Chatham.

A group from Grand Bend joined the Hap-
py Pushers for their Weekly shuffling on
Thursday.
