Golf in support of minor hocke
Help support Seaforth and DiStrict Minor
Hockey on Saturday, June 27. They will be
hosting a Golf tournament at the Seaforth
Golf and Country Chib. The entry fee is $35.

' the golf course with four boys in the juvenile category and 10 boys in the bantaam
• category, There were no juniors or girls particpating in the tournament. The categories

ment was held to promote the sport of golf, to build character and to send the top three

SIMS awards athletes of year
Teachers and students both received
awards at the annual Athletic Awards
Achievement night held at the Seaforth
District High School Thursday.
Grade 12 students, Kevin Cooper and Lisa
Preszcator, both members of the student's
athletic association and representatives at
the 'Ontario Student Leadership Program
last year, were hosts for the eeveing.
There were 21 awards for achievement
and four recognition awards as well as some
new.awards presented to special teachers.
John McCowan and Lisa Preszcator took
the top awards as the top male and female
athlete of the year respectively. They were
presented with • their awards by Terry
Johnston.
Linda Doig presented the Ontario Student
Leadership Camp Arad to Anne linbinSon
and Paul Menary. Crystal Whyte and Dave
Keely received the Bark Lake award. The
General athletic contribution award was
presented by Mr. Johnston to Allison Scott.
The most valuable player in senior girls
basketball was Mary Margaret Kelly and

award in midget girls basketball went to the'
team, with special reference to Scottie
Webb. The most valuable player award in
senior boys basketball went to Ron Ver-
cruyssen while Jeff Robinson took it in
junior boys basketball. The most dedicated
player in midget boys basketball was Kevin
Dick.
The most valuable player for junior boys
volleyball was Ray Lamont, and the award
for team spirit and leadership for junior
girls volleyball was presented to the team,
and especially Amy van den Akker, who was
its captain. Jackie Bell was rewarded for
being the mostconsistent player in senior
girls volleyball,
Martha Hook was preaenteci with the team
leadership and desire award in girls soccer.
The most valuable player on the junior boys
soccer team was Steve Noble and Mike Kel-:
