It is now 27 Years since the Seaforth
Legion Branch 156 moved into the present
• hall from the quarters it occupied in the old
Community Memorial Centre The building
is now hard to .recognize fromthe block
structure as it was then, both inside and out.
Frank Phillips' has been the Bar Steward
for the last 20 of those 27 years. Throughout
his years Frank has gathered artifacts.
from the first war and the second war and
made show cases throughout the hall,. in
which to display these artifacts to legion
members and the general public. Frank's
imagination -and -handiwork is-now-beeorn-
ing well known throughout the District with
many visitors dropping by to view the dif-'
ferent showcases. (As of the first of June
this year Comrade Frank handed in his
resignation.)
• With Frank's retirement it would seem
the Legion is starting to a new era which will
see more of its Associate members leading
the way with a slow decline in the number of
Veterans" taking an active roll in the
business of the Branch. Members of the Ex-
ecutive and the Branch wish Frank a long
and happy retirement and offer a special
thanks for all he has done through the years
for the Branch and the Legion in general.

Local volunteer
seeks host families
Educational " Foundation for Foreign
Study, a non-profit international student ex-
change organization, has recently appointed
Janice Rose as Seaforth's local Area
Representative.
As part of an international network of
volunteer representatives, Miss Rose
screens and selects host families, plans ac-
tivities, serves as a liaison with local high
schools, and most importantly, is a friend to
students living far fromtheirnative
countries.
Miss Rose, one of 150 dedicated Educa-
tional Foundation volunteers in Canada, is
currently looking for enthusiastic, caring
host families. Host families come from all
backgrounds and walks of life, but have one
'thing in common — a sincere interest in
learning about a new culture and a will-
ingness to share their family life with a high
school student from one of 18 participating
countries.
Host families provide students with a bed,
meals and a caring environment. Founda-
tion students speak English, are fully in-
sured, and provide their own spending
money for the 10 month stay.
Anyone interested in hosting one of the 200
exchange students who want to come to
Canada this fall, or would like more infor-
mation on Foundation programs, please
contact Miss hose at 519-482-3768 or call
