The May meeting of the Catholic Women's
League (C.W.L.) of St. Columban was held
in the p8rish hall on Monday, May 4..
Margaret O'Reilly, president, opened the
meeting with the league • •prayer, Cor-
respondence, read by Glenda Murray, in-
cluded thank you notes and a letter from the
Joseph Family in India, An invitation from
• the ..First Lutheran Ladies in• Logan was
received -to -their -Spring -Sale -on May 14 at 8 d
p.m.
Mary. -Maloney will visit the sick for the
month of May.
Rosaries for ,.the First Communion
children, plaques for the Grade 8 graduates
and Christening gowns have been purchased
for these upcoming occasions. •
Angeline Swart, past president, was
presented with a gift from the C.W.L. in ap-
preciation for the past two years she served
as president of the C.W.L. ,
The annual June Social and Tea will be on
June 17 and the ladies are asked to have
their articles for the penny Sale in by June 1.
• The tickets for the draw are now available ,
frorre the ladies for the following prizes; first
prize is a hand sewn quilt; second prize is a
crocheted afghan; third prize is a hand
crafted walnut mirror. and the fourth prize is
a ',aur6'bvernight bag.
• At this time -the guest,speaker, Thomas
Devereaux, B. Sc.; D.C. of Seaforth was in-
troduced by Maria Vogels. -
Dr. Devereaux explained how important
it is to have good posture,, rest and exercise
- in order for both children and adults to have
a healthy spine. Good food is also necessary
-for a strong spine.
Dr. Devereaux was thanked by Margaret
• O'Reilly for his 'very. informative .talk and
presented with a gift.

while she is doing her work term in Occupa-
tional Therapy at the Stratford General
Hospital. •

meeting of Cromarty•Ladies Aid. The presi-
dent, Pearl James opened it with a•Mother's
Day poem.
Lillian Douglas gave the : devotions,
reading Deuteronomy 6: 1-7 for scripture,
and the meditation on idols and false gods.
For the roll call members recalled the.
first movie they ever saw in a theatre. '
During the business, the evening of Jtine'8
was• set for a, housecleaning bee at the
church. Many hands make light work so a
good. turnout would be appreciated.
• The menu for the strawberry supper on
June 17 was discussed. Eva Laing, contact.

Mrs: Douglas conducted a contest and the
meeting closed with a hymn_ accompanied
by Mrs. Carey.,
The strawberry- supper committee met at
the home of Doris Miller on Wednesday
evening to make plans for the supper.

five . sons, Joseph Feeney and Martin
Feeney, both at home, were inadvertently

to Jack and Margaret O'Reilly on the death
of Margaret's mother, Mrs. Haggerty at the
Stratford Hospital on Saturday night..
