The ' skit, entitled Brats pn the Farm was performed by the Grade 6 class of Mr.•Carter. as part or the Seaforth Public School's Country Jamboree. Mcliwraith.photo, • Euchre, exercise, bingo, Maplewood Manor residents had a quiet pleasant week. • Every Monday morning the hairdressing salon is an active spot. Both men and women enjoy the services of the hairdressers. Monday afternoon Pete Tremeer was off to bowl at Starlight Lanes. Every week he meets the challenge with enthusiasm. Tuesday afternoon the residents enjoyed games of euchre. The winner of the prize for high lady was Jean Johns; for low lady, Ger- tie Taylor; for high man, Charlie Brown; and for low man, Ed Johns. Lou Whitney, won the door prize. ' Thank you to Mary Chapple and Betty. Hulley for volunteering the time to help. Wednesday morning exercises were held with Deb Melady and Glen Rose. The students have not only met the folks in- terested in exercises but the students have also visited with all the residents. Wednesday night residents played Lions T.V. Bingo. Along with volunteers Marj Maloney and Anne Downey,:a student from St. James School, Katie Craig came to help Lawnbowling looking to .May 18 start The Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club held its Euchre and Bridge party evening April 28 in the Orange Hall: There were thirteen tables of euchre and three of Bridge in play. • High ladies score went: to Rachael Riehl; Lone hands, Mary Chappel; low , score, Mary McClure; men's high score, Bob McLachlan; low score, Harold Coleman; .lone hands, Ebner Townsend; high bridge, • ladies Marjory Linglebach and low -either men or women, Eileen. Adamson. President Mary Finlayson welcomed everyone present and reminded them this was the last evening in the Orange Hall for the–season.–Starting_May18_will–be_the_ potluck supper at the club house at 5:30.p.ni. Weather permitting Lawn Bowling will start that day. After supper cards will be played. There will also be bowling for anyone who wants to bowl. All metnbers and associate members are welcome: John Patterson also was reminding people of the senior's games which are coming up June 22 and 23. MUSIC. fi I I week with bingo. Junior Farmer Lynda Feagan drove the volunteers to and from Maplewood Manor. . Thursday morning Gertie Taylor, Agnes Hunter, Elva Ellis and Ethel Sallows and staff member Deb Dillon and son Mike at- tended the Spring Concert at the Seaforth Public School. The performance was delightfully entertaining for everyone and for Elva Ellis it was .a time to renew acquaintances. • On Friday morning the students of Seaforth District High School visited with the residents. This week there was a large gathering of residents and students in the front living room and a very lively conver- sation ensued. This week on Friday, residents welcomed Mr. Edgar Allan to Maplewood. He was assisted with the move by his daughter Mary and son Howard. Gertie Taylor's visitors were Patti and Anne Taylor, William, Taylor, Clarence and Ruth Taylor, Jane Armstrong, Debbie Shielke. ' Helen Dallas' visitors were Ray Dallas and Tracey Gowan, Bill and Kate Dallas, and Preston Dallas, Pete and Willy' Tremeer's. visitor . was Vicki Tremeer. • ' Jean. and Ed Johns' .visitors .were Mrs. Warden Haney, Glen Haney, Grace Broad - foot, •Mr, and Mrs.Tom Wilbee, `Mr, and Mrs. Jack Rose, Mrs. Norman' Willjs, Mrs. Doug Bartliff and Mrs. Zablocki. ` . Lloyd Rawat's visitors. were his .children Peter, Don; Jim and Sheila and their families. Manor residents enjoy music Thursday morning was exercise time at the Seaforth Manor. Residents take time out • regularly for fun and fitness. On Monday afternoon residents and guests enjoyed the old tyme music of Marie Flynn and her orchestra. Several residents, guests and staff, also enjoyed dancing to the good old tunes. Lucy Bezzo extended courtesy remarks to the band and a social time followed. Last Thursday a presentation, of a hand- made cushion made by the foam cutting class, was made to Anne Helm. Lucy Bezzo and Ila Gardner made the presentation and extended best wishes to Mrs. Helm for the future. Mrs. Helm stated their personal gift to her would bring back many happy memories. Also this week Pat Ryan emerged once again as the winner in the Monday bowling. On Tuesday students of the Seaforth Public 'School helped with wheelchair bowl- ing, then residents were off to the United church luncheon for a delicious meal, which everyone enjoyed. On Tuesday afternoon films were shown. On Saturday morning residents gathered for a council meeting, New resident Mansie Ross was welcomed to the Manor. On Saturday afternoon the arc working ladies went shopping for a new , spring wardroe: On Saturday night, Pat Ryan, accom- panied by Jackie Racho, went to the bowling league dinner and dance. Pat came back with a few winnings. PERSONALS Rose and Pat Altman visited her parents Dave and Eva Netzke, then Dave went to the Legion for an afternoon. Ethel Haist and Helen Kirkby visited Mansie Ross. Bill and Janice Morris took his mother Helen for a drive. Gladys Ruston was home for the day and attended'a bridal shower for her niece. Carol Geddes' visitors were , husband Charlie and her aunt Isabel Riehl. Isabel Scat visited husband Bill Scott; Audrey. Cameron was in to see her mother-in-law Verda Cameron. David Alexander Embro visited grand- mother Cassie Nicholson. Cassie was also out to dinner to Harold and Beryl Nicholson's home.
