KEEP YOUR PROMISES - Ontario Premier David Peterson was greeted'bypicketers
Thursday when he arrived in Seaforth as part of a tour of Huron County. -The picketers,
members of Pro -Life groups in Stratford and Goderich, said Mr. Peterson had not kept
his campaign promises in regards to abolition of abortuaries. Mr. and Mrs. Kelly, a St.
Columban couple, took part in the picketing.

Kay Smale hosted the annual meeting„of
the Staffa Women's. Institute April 15 open-
ing''*'vith a poem and the Institute Ode'and
'Mary Stewart Collect.
Mrs. John Templeman gave a presenta-
tion on the Erland Lee Museum Home and
had a display of the saleable articles for
everyone to see. Sixteen members answered
the roll call by paying their fees.
Mrs. Sinale and Mrs. Wm. Mahon dealt.
with the business. A letter was read from
the Perth County children's Aid regarding
their annual banquet; from Spruce Lodge
Auxiliary telling about their spring tea to be
held in June and asking for contributions
and regarding the.Institute displays at Mit-
chell Fair — this year the topic is Christmas
in September.
Members were reminded of the annual
music festival beginning April 21. Several
members volunteered to help atthe bake
table at the District Annual May' 19. A
resolution regarding Agriculture in the
school which would offer credit standing
Was presented by Mrs. Arthur Kemp and
discussed and voted on by the branch
members.
A report on the dishes at the Township
Hall was given by Mrs. Mahon, Mrs. Clarles
Douglas and Hazel Harburn,
Gardening hints were given by Helen Par-
sons. Mrs. Templeman read a letter regar-
ding the Butler project. Mrs. Douglas
reported on the training school for Short
Order Cooking which she and Kay Smale
had attended.
It was decided to have two meetings with
the first one being May 7 at 7 1.30 p,m. in Staf-
fa Fall. Everyone is welcome to attend. A
committee was named to look into suitable
ways of recognizing 4-H meinbers at the 12,
18, 24 and 36 club level. They are Doris
Miller, Mrs. Bi11 Kerslake and Mrs. John
Teinplenian.
Mrs, Daynard expressed the mother's
thanks to Kay Smale for her leadership as
president for the past three years. Doreen
Chappel presented the nomination commit•
tee report and the executive for 1987-88 was
installed by Mrs. John Templeman.

At the April meeting of the 1st Cromarty
Scout group committee at Bill Mabon's,
plans were made to hold a potluck dinner
and family day on May 24 in honor of, John
Wilkinson -and Jason McCaughey, who are
the first two boys. from Cromarty to
graduate from the complete Scout program.
Upcomingevents include the• Huron -o -
Rama for Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts, to be
held near Bayfield and the Beaveree and
Cuboree. It was reported over $550 was rais-
ed from the bottle drive in 'Hibbert.
