AND MELISSA WHITMORE On Thursday, April 16, several Seaforth Public School students, including Jonathan Wheatley and Melissa Whitmore, who were invited as guests of Jack Riddell, MPP and Minister of Agriculture; Darlene Glanville as the school reporter; and interested --students; Adam-Davies-and-Boe-Alkemade; attended a luncheon with the Premier of On- tario, David Peterson. They were accom- panied by staff members, Mrs. McDonald, Mr. Jewitt, Mr. Keith Snell and Mr. Eisler. Colin Skea and Stephen Pletsch were out- side the arena to see the Premier. THE HURON EXPOSITOR, APRIL 22, 1987 "'T .AN EXCITING TIME - Easter was an exciting time for primary students at the Seaforth Public School, since it provided 'opportunity and motivation for lots of activity. Joanne Dale, Samantha Lansink and Mark Rick, seen here with Teacher's Aid Susan, are col- oring eggs as part of Easter'preparations in the Grade.1 class of Mrs. Carroll. Christi, seen here working with a three weeks at the school. Student teach ' Christi Querengesser, a student teacher from Althouse College, London, has spent the past three, weeks with Mrs. Reynolds and one of the Grade 6 Classes at Seaforth Public School. Christi's stay began in whirlwind fashion - in more ways than one. The late spring snowfall received two weeks ago was the cause of a minor car mishap, As she was travelling home to Stratford, where she resides with husband Bob, she slid into a ditch, damaging the undercarriage and ,r• Seaforlh's public school grew accustomed student teacher from Althouse College in student at the computer terminal, spent SPS photo. er missed right side of her car, The remainder of her time at SPS, she boarded with Ruth Ribey, the school secretary. Christi brings with her a wide variety of . experiences. She has worked in fields of business as both sales and customs clerk for Stratford firms. She has also worked as a tourist counsellor with the Stratford Chamber of Commerce. Staff and students alike, enjoyed Christi's positive, friendly presences, and with her . well in the future. I -ion •' :eV ur x ,.ositor 1 27-0240 The Premier was invited by the Seaforth Business Improvement Association to spend the lunch hour in this town aspart of a Huron County tour. ' His message centred„' around the technological and agricultural im- provements which have been initiated ,in Huron. County. He commented on the ar- chitectural designs and historic beauty of Seaforth's Main Street. The students from SPS were able to shake the Premier's hand, get his autograph and, receive answers to some of their questions. They had several pictures taken with him, both inside and outside the building, and felt the day was one of the highlights of their year. The students enjoyed the catering service by Mrs. Miller, as reflected by the standing ovation -given her following the meal. SPS teacher attends conference BY RENEE THOMPSON - 4 Mr. Carter, a Grade 6 teacher from Seaforth Public School, went to London to the. 'University, of Western Ontario on Wednesday, for a conference on "Agriculture in the Classroom". It ran from April 13 to 15. People who presented included the ministers of Agriculture for Ontario and Canada, also Ross Daily, a reporter from CFPL. It was about getting teachers to teach more agriculture in school. Mr. Carter brought back a booklet which'. contained practical ideas for teachers to use, as well as lists of people to contact for agricultural information.
