The Seaforth Legion's mixed Invitational
Bowling was held Saturday at the Seaforth
and Clinton Lanes. It was again a complete
success with 29 teams participating from as
far away as Toronto, A team from Hanover
won first prize, second place -went to Clinton
and a team from Seaforth, consisting of Brian
Dale, Brian Barry, David W atson, Linda
Gridzak," DianneGridzak and Libby Van

first time that two Associate members have
the top two executive positions in the Zone,
which is a sign of the times that is going to
effect all Legion Branches in a few short
years. The Fall Convention in September will
be held in Seaforth this year with a parade to
the Cenotaph before the meeting.
There are still some seats for the bus trip on
Saturday available at time of -writing for
anyone wishing to go. This is a first come first

Mapiewood welcomes five
This week the folks at Maplewood Manor
Welcomed new residents over several differ-
ent days -and visited with old friends on one.
particular day.
Maplewood Manor welcomed five new
residents including Helen Dallas, Mr, Lloyd
•• Rowat, Edna • Lloyd and Anna Sherrin
(sisters") and. Ross Scott. Their families
assisted them with moving in and getting
comfortably settled.
On Monday, Pete Tremeer was off to bowl
at the Starlight Lanes.
On Tuesday evening Agnes Hunter, Gertie
Taylor and staff member Vicki Gordon
attended a Junior Farmer entertainment time
at the Seaforth Manor,. They enjoyed,
themselves very much and thank Seaforth
Manor for the invitation. • .
W ednesday morning Deb Melady and Glen
Rose conducted exercises in .the common
• room. Again they encouraged everyone to
stretch, and bend and smile.
Wednesday afternoon Maplewood was
pleased to have the Public Health nurses hold
the adult health clinic here. It was on this
particular day that residents visited with
friends who came for the special care.
Certainly residents enjoyed the foot care that
was provided. •
,Wednesday evening the Lions T.V. Bingo
was again popular. Anne Downey and Marj
Maloney were the volunteer helpers. They
were brought .into Maplewood by Junior
Farmer Lynda Feagan.
Oi"Thursdayafternoon Gertie Taylor and
Pete and W illy Tremeer played euchre at the
Seaforth Manor. Pete won the prize for low
man and was delighted towin a prize even'
though he had poor luck et cards.
On Friday morning Grade 11 students from
"SDHS came to Maplewood and continued
their "getting to know you" visits. Each
student spends time with one resident. The
students will continue these visits until June.
Friday afternoon was movie time. The
movies were Charlie Chaplin in the Vagabond
and a documentary on Stompin' Tom
Connors. Because John Pullman is a country
and western fan he really enjoyed the second
film. ••
Maplewood staff and residents wish to
thank Frank Sills for the bird book: It is
perused every day. 'Also thank you to
D'Orlean Sills for the beautiful pussywillows
from his garden.

happy to have
students return
Seaforth Manor residents were happy to
have children from the public school back to
help with wheelehairbowling after the spring
break. The winners were Frank Senate and
Dave Netzke. Lawrence Young won the
Monday bowling at Starlight Lanes.
The junior farmers entertained residents
with skits, stepdancing and. violin' solos
' Tuesday evening. It was an enjoyable
evenhlg, Agnes Hunter and Gertie Taylor
from Maplewood Manor were visitors on this
night. They were driven to the Manor by
Karen Snell and Vicky Gordon.
• The Reverend Archie Robertson held the
•worship service do Wednesday with Mrs.
Lobb on organ. It was nice to see her after her
illness. A social hour followed,
Thursday morning residents took part in
exercises for fain and fitness. in the afternoon
euchre .was played. Guests were Gertrude
Taylor and Allan and Willie Tremeet. Five
tables were in play. Whiners Were ladies
high, Irene' Omand; 'men's high, Patrick
Ryan; low lady and nran, Rdrth Salo and Allan
Ttemeer and lone hands, Frank Smale.
Lunch wasprbvitled by Margaret Ryan and
Mary McIver. Prizes were donated' by Anne
Downey.
Friday morning residents again exercised
for fun and fitness. In the afternoon bingo
«as played. Winners were; Straight line, Ila
Gardner, Madge Reines, Verde Cameron,
IIetrniaArney and Elmer Raksry; 4 corners,
Lucy Bezzo and Bob McClure anti full house,
Lawrence Young.
