grandson, Graham Scott.
• He is also survived by one sister, Mrs.
Leon (Ruth) Rushcall of Victoria, B.C.

Reverend Stuart joined the Midland

World War as a chaplain in the Canadian
Army with the rank of Captain. After a brief

four years.
Reverend Stuart was invited to rejoin the
Peace -Time Chaplaincy, and enlisted in the
Royal Canadian Air Force with the rank of
Flight Lieutenant. He was subsequently
promoted to Squadron Leader and then to
Wing Commander. Ills Air Force appoint-
ments
ppointments were as Station Chaplain at B.C.A.F.
Station Goose Bay, in Labrador; and at
R.C.A.F. Station Crumlin, outside Lindon.
In that latter appointment, his principal
responsibility involved the N.A.T.O. flying
crews training in Canada. The family resided
in Dorchester and in therm. With the
appointment to Air Foree Headquarters as
Deputy Director of Religion Administration,
the family moved to Ottawa; this Ottawa
appointment was a five-year term. The next
stage in his military Career was his
appointment as Command Chaplin for the Air
Transport Command, headquartered at
R.C.A.F. Station Trenton, Ontario; this
position involved the pastoral care for the
service men and their in a:very broad
geographie area, stretching literally from the
Canadian Arctic, and east to west in Canada,
to the Canadian ?bites stationed with
Trenspon Command in Europe and the
1Mleditorranean. Extensive travel was re-
quired throughout this period.
The appointment to the rank of Wing
Commander also, brought the transfer to
number Dire Air Divisiott, headquartered in
Metz: F ante. Reverend Stuart spent the
final five years of his Chaplaincy Service as
the senior Protestant Canadian Chaplain

Reverend and Mrs. Stuart returned to the
beginnings of their life together, the tote of
"Country par§ot5' " Being in close touch With
theland, and with parishioners devoted to the
land, was always a cherished part of
Reverend Stthait's ministry, and of the

Following his retitement from the active
Ministry Reverend Stuart resided for a titne

years, the Strains have lived quietly in Byron,
