The weekend of March 15, the Seaforth Novice boys , took part in a tournament in Listowel. The boys were up early to play their first game at 8 a.m. Sunday morning against Drayton. They were up but were they awake? They seemed to be down on the ice as much as they were skating. Finally at 5:23 Mark Van Dooren accepted a pass from behind the net tristart the scoring for Seaforth. This goal was assisted •by Jason Henderson and Boyd Devereaux. Only one minute later Mike Hugill assisted by Shaun Anstett scored number two for Seaforth. Drayton came back with one goal to end the first period 2-1 for Seaforth. Neither. team had any get up and go in the second period. After a rest between periods Boyd Devereaux single-handedly on a break away at 2:32 into the third, scored' Two minutes later Drayton caught goalie Scott Wood off guard to count number two for their team. Seaforth, well awake now, showed they could do it with two more unassisted goals by Mike Hugill and Boyd Devereaux. The final score was 5-2 Seaforth over Drayton.
