residents see
fashion show,
. Maplewood Manor's Aetivities• this week
were highlighted by alashion'shOw. , •
Monday was bowling day and • Pete,
Tremeer tried his best at the Starlight Lanes,
Some of the residents and staff spent part of
Monday planning tor the tea. and fallikin
show to be held the next day. ' . •
On Ttiesday; Geri •Fashions of London set
up1heiclothingisplays-in1heIiViflgrOOm.
Residents, visiting ladies and staff browsed ,
and shopped until fashion show time. Then
the Volunteers, Anne Downey, Marj.. Ma-
loney, Dorothy Papple and Mary Chapple,
modelled a variety of ensembles from
Sleepwear to dresses'. The first door prize
given by ,Geri .Fashions was a sweater and
was won by Annie McNichol. MrS. Rock and
Mary Chapple won the second and third
prizes which were handmade novelties. After
the show everyone enjoyed tea and cake in
the dining room. The cake had'been made. by
Velma Miller. Tanya Eckert and Monica Ryan
Were the: two young volunteers who helped
serve. It was...a pleasant afternoon spent
visiting and shopping.
Wednesday morning ReV:, Cheryl Anne
Stadelbauer-Sampa conducted the worship
service. She was assisted by members of the
congregation of .the. Egmondville United
Ehureh. They were Helen and.MerVi.n Nott,
'Thelma arid Oliver Price, Olive Papple, Jean
Durst, Hazel"McGonigle and Minna Scott.
,Wedn6day night it was time for the Lion's
T.V. "Bingo.. Marj. Maloney and Anne
Downey tied for having the best bingo cards.,
Marj. Maloney won the draw to break the tie
and won the Maplewood Manor Pingo prize.
Marj. Maloney and Ann"e Downey were the
volunteer helpers and were brought to
'Maplewood by Lynda Feagan, a Junior
•Farmer.
Friday was movie day with Gail Hills in
charge. Texaco generously donated a V,C;R.
arid a movie video kir the afternoon.
Everyene enjoyed the W alt Disney movie
called Candleshoe starring David NiVen.
Residents and staff are very pleased Jean
Johns has returned to Maplew'ood :from
Stratford General Hospital.
Maplewood Manor welcomes 'Harold
W hyte who has come for a vacation stay, -
Visitors to Maplewood Manor this week
were Leslie Ash and son Tom. Tom is just four
and 12 Months old and those residents who
were in at the time, particularly enjoyed his
visit,
Mr. Charles Bernister's visitors were Mr.
Predum, and daughter Margaret, Kevin
Postill, Stuart Boyes, John and ,Ruth
,Cummings and Greta and Wes Hoggart.
Jean and 'Ed-Johnsvisitors were Jim Cox,
Edith Landsborough, Cal and Marj. Horton
and Beth Rose.
. Ethel Sallows' visitors were Judy and
Timmy Mahring, Joan Talbot, Laura Dickey
and Mrs. Eiscusehink.
Elva and John Pullman's visitors were
their family.
Mae Habkirk's visitors were her family.

Seaforth Manor residents went bowling
Monday. Pat Ryan was the winner. . '
. On Tuesday morning children from the
Public School helped with wheelchair bowl-
ing. Dave Netzke and Frank Smale were
winners'. Tuesday afternoon was • spent
watching films.
W ednesday afternoon Rev. Cheryl. Ann
Stadelbeiler-Sampa and choir came for the
worship service. It was followed by a social
hour. ,

were..played. Winners were: high men. and
ladies fia Gardner and PatRyan; consolation,.
Edith Salo and Ed Dunn; lone hands, Doris
Smith and Elmer Bakscy. Allan and Willie
Tremeer and Dwight Willis and friend were
guests.
Prizes were donated by Mary Finlayson
and Marjorie Maloney provided lunch. The
next euchre is March 12 at 2 p.m.
Friday afternoon everyone enjoYed. old
tyme music•Drovided•bytladys Van Egmond
on piano, Elgin Nott, and Ray Cantelon on
violin with Hugh Hodges of Clinton playing
guitar. Many old songs were played.

Brotherhood night at Legion
'1/4..
Approximately 130 Members of the various
club S and lodges froth the Seaforth area
attended the Brotherhood Night held last
week in the Legion under the auspices of the
Optimist Club. The guest speaker, Roger
McCombe, a school teacher, Anglican
Minister and Chaplain of the Listowel Police
Departitent, gave an informative talk on •
Brotherhoed. The_Town and Country Four
• and the No -Notes Jug 13and gave several
nurribeiS for the entertainment - of the
evening. A delicious meal was served by the
Legion Ladies Auxiliary arid was enjoyed by
aR present.
