After the card.game a potluck supper was
enjoyed by ail. Yvonne Ducharme won a prize
for having the lucky plate. •
Eleven tables were in play Friday evening
at the Knights of, Columbus euchre game in •
the'K of •C Hail in St, Columban.
The winners were ladies high', Catherine
Ryan; low. Cecilia Ryan; men's high, Russel
Smith; low,. Gordon k ase . and Mrs,' Pete
Connolly won the prize for, the most lone
hands.
The next garde will be Friday.'; March 6 at'8

Kip Daynard was .guest speaker'•at.the

'Public, Relations meeting of the Staffa
Women's Institute, held at the home of
Roberta Templeman on Wednesday after-
noon,
Kip, a Grade 9 student at Mitchell District
High Scbool, told about his six • week
experiences as a Provincial. Pfgee in Toronto
last winter. He also told about his trip to -Expo
by bus last summer with the Stratford Boy's
Choir, which gave two concerts at Expo; and
• ,'several other concerts while on the island.
Kip had ,many. interesting pictures and,,
inementos which he passed around,. Kip was
introduced by Roberta Templeman and
. thanked by Joyce Vivian.
Roberta presided for the program, opening,.
with a,reading, followed. bythe Mary Stewart
'Collect. Flfteen members answered the roll
call•bynaming a place in'Canada-they would
like to visit and why. A map was displayed
showing the: location of the Whim Road
Women's institute- in P.E.L; which is
twinned with Staffa.
PHOTOGRAPHY TIPS '
Verle Mahon gave some tips and hints on
photography,,telling how to choose a camera,
loading and unloading your film, caring for
batteries and proper lighting and focusing.
Joyce Vivian gave some gardening tips and
then introduced Lloyd Morrison, a co-chair-
man of the upcoming International PJoWing
•Metcho to, be .hosted by Perth County' in
September 1988. -
Lloyd told about the site, how many acres
involved; and the many committees and
volunteers involved in planning such a big
event. '
Lloyd was wearing the blazer, trousers etc.
in the official colors chosen for the Perth
match and Joyce was wearing the winter
jacket available. Joyce thanked, Lloyd.
BUSINESS PORTION
The president, Kay Smale presided for the
business, and' correspondence was read' by
Verle Mahon. An update was read regarding
the program co-ordinator at branch level.
. Agriculture in the classroom, the Butler
project and 441 were ail discussed.

paraded into Cromarty Presbyterian Church
February 22 for their annual. church service.
' Following the opening hymn, Brian Waddell
led in the responsive reading. The Sunday
School choir, with Carol Ann Scott, at the
organ, sang.
The Reverend Robert Johnson told the
children' astoiyshtfWinglhatsorne;ppeople are'
like sponges; they take and take and'take, ani3
in order to get anything from them they have
to be squeezed.
The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts and their
leaders, Margaret Schrader, Twyla Waddell,
Rhea Cameron, Carol Ann Scott, Bill
Cameron and Nelson Pullman repeated their
Promises.- The Old Testament Lesson was
read by John W illdnson and the New
Testament Lesson byJason McCaughey, The
offering was received by Sean Schrader,
Ryan Vandervliet, Steven Dearing and
Steven Pullman. Mr. Johnson spoke on.•the•
theme "Who is My Neighbor'"
Following the church service, the boys and
their families drove to Dublin Community •
Centre where they enjoyed a potluck dinner.
Bill Mahon was chairman and introduced the
head table guests who included the assistant
District Commissioner, Brian Anderson, of

devotions at the Ladies Aid meeting which
was held at her home recently.,
• Seven - members and one visitor were
present and the roll call was answered by the
`payment df the 10 cent membership fee.
During the business, it was decided to hold'
• the Strawberry Supper on June 17. and a
planning committee was named, A sample of
the material for the new basement drapes
was shown. Pearl gave a reading and the
meeting closed with a hymn and the Lord's
prayer. •
