Women's Institute was held February S at the
home of Mrs. Wilfred Strickler:"The roll call

enjoyed his talk, • • • -
The minutes of the January meeting were
read by Mrs. Frank Workman: President,
Mrs. John Vanass conducted the business.
Mrs. Strickler and her daughter. Mrs: Ralph
Adams each conducted a contest. •
The March meeting will be held at the
home of Mrs. Workman. Launch was. served
by Mrs. Clare Veitch.and Mrs. Donald Perrier

His ordination takes place in his home church

The February meeting of the Women's
Missionary Society • of Knox Presbyterian
Church, Cranbrook, was held aat the home of
Mrs. Jim hart, Brussels with eleven.
memberspresent. Mrs,. Jack Knight opened
the meeting with a reading. Donna read and
led in prayer.
Following the theme "Love" Mrs. Leslie
Knight gave the topic, bringing out the many
ways love influences our lives and those
around us, in our church, W .M.S. and every
visited at the Vanass home on Sunday, day.

cards and visiting when they returned to
Harold and-Elva's home in the village.

Albin and Ruby Bergstrom of Bashaw,
Alberta have been visiting in this area on
their return trip from Jamaica with Doug and
Marjorie Fraser.
Emerson and Phyllis Mitchell entertained
other friends in their honor one •eirenirig'last '
week. They left for Toronto' early Sunday .
morning to fly out for the West. Doug and
Marjorie will spend a few days in Toronto
when Doug is attending the Good Roads
convention.

Elections were held at the first meeting of
McKillop No. 1 441 Club,
President is Melissa Whitmore; Vice
President, Pam Bennett; Secretary, Theresa
Campbell; Treasurer, Pam Hoggarth and
Press Reporter, Heather McKercher,.
The leaders discussed how to fist a leaky
pipe and other minor hone maintenance and
whet people should do when home alone.
The next Meeting will beheld Thursday at
the -home of Connie McClure.
Mrs. Terry Ward, entertained her with
bowling and a dinner as a going away party as
she has moved to Monkton. The friends were
Mr. and Mrs. Earl Rock, Mr. and Mts. Bob
Robertson, Mr. and Mrs. John Elligsen, Mr.
and Mrs. Alvin Illligsen and Mr. and Mrs.
Tony Weiderman. They presented her with a
table,centrepiece and a clock.

President Mrs. Clare Veitch presided for
the business when the minutes were read by
Mrs. Wilfred Strickler and the treasurer's
report by'Mrs. Hart. The roll call was a verse '
on "love" or "heart."
'The March meeting will be combined with
the World Day of Prayer service. on March6 at
the home of Mrs. Joe Smith. There was some
discussion on Synodical and Our part, in it.
M[s. Veitch read an amusing' poem on •
"Groundhog Day. " •
Mrs. .Leslie Knight conducted a Bible
contest, on "love".. Lunch was, provided by •
Mrs. Jack -Knight and Mrs. Mac Engel.
The Forester's dance. on Friday night was
well attended and everyone enjoyed an
evening of dancing to Tiffin's Orchestra: The
Forester's .will sponsor another dance on
April 3. Friday night, February 13, the Hall
Board will have a card party in the
Community Centres at 8:30 p.m.
