meeting with Queens Femmes until 8:17 of
the first period laSt Wednesday eve. It was at
that point that the skies grew dark and angry
and the Queens club scored their. first of a
dozen goals en route to a 12-0 shellacking of a
prostrate Junior Farmers squad. The winners
- addeclinsult-to-injuryhy-rapping-honae three.
shorthanded scores on the same penalty.
• Now that has gotto be a record of some Sort.
The -Queens have -been thp best outfit in
ladies play in 1987 and that has a lot to do with
the play of Cheryl Kruse. She has been the
hottest critter wielding,e broom and her three
goals and assist last week not only aided her
squad in chewing up a hapless Fanner team
• but also propelled her into.the league scoring
teed, •
Despite that dozen to zero count, the Junior
Farmers were not without some moments of
their own.
Trish Menheere had a sparkling opportun-
• ity to score when she found herself all by ber
. -lonesome in front of the'Queen'' s gaping net
• • and no-one around for roles. She blasted the,
ignorant ball over the net, over the glass and-.
• a spot where no fans dareventure. Cathy
• Monk rove one between the legs of Cheryl
• Morey and Queens goalie managed to
hold it out after some initial problems.
• Teresa Finlayson,.no slouch herself when it
comes to this game', scored four tithes to
assist her club's rapacious appetite for
victories.
Jean Dow and Joan Bridge each contrib-
uted a pair of markers, and Marg Henderson
added a solo effort for good measure.

• most improved group in the mens loop in
1987. They have actually shown signs of - wait
for it, emerging talent. Egad!
All -jokes aside, they do have some quality
in this anew and have Leonhardt launched a
scoring rocket that appeared to -give Mitchell
a quick 1-0 lead. Our intrepid Zebra,
however, ruled that a mischievious 'stang
had slipped into the Grad goal crease and the
goal was negated. • • .
That took some of the zip out of the Mitchell
club and the Grads rebounded quite nicely,
• thank you, to take a 3-1 win.
The mens league has its, own version of tbe,
James gang. The St. Marys W ydeven• .
brothers, Adrian,, Henry and Robert of the
•Grads are notorious for leeding their outlaws
into the banks of the opposition. Unlike their
• folklore anfitieros of the 1800s, they perform
their shennanigans with an ironic twist. The
'80S- version of the James gang deposits
plenty of goals while withdrawing Victories in
regular fashion.
Henry, and Robert both added scores, to
their bank book last .week in leading the

Perhaps the best check of the year occurred
when he hammered Parrline's Tim Bylsma
with a rOclUng, clean tooth rattler, Bylsma,
one of the biggest and strongest chaps in
men's broomball bounced up smiling where
