TEA MnErnso.-A very aucceeseful tea
meeting was held in the Methodist church,
at thie place; last Wednesday evening,
notwithstanding the unfavorable ,weather
and roads. .The speeches of the evening
combined the qualities of being interesting,
amusing and profitable, while the singing
of the Clinton choir lent an additional in-
terest to the afiair. The proceeds amount-
ed to about $40. A social MIS held on the
following evening, which was as successful
as anticipated.

ly attended, as tumal, speethes were delivered
by Rev. Mr. MoDonagh aud;others, and ex-
cellent music rendered by the choir. A very
pleasant time was spent. About $80 were
