.Tu -t at this season of the year farmers
are 'desirous of knowing where they can
find the best Inark-et for the cliepoial of
th(ir grain. Last year we proved con-
clusively that Clinton was invariably the
beet for all lands of farm produce, there
frequently being several cents difference in
favor of Clinton, on grain, as compared,
with either. places in the county. T,h,iti
year Clinton, so far, takes the same posi-
tion as it did last, the grain market hay-
ing but recently opened, yet we find that
the price paid here for wheat is TWOcents
h bushel.more than in other places, tie we
will prove. A friend in St. Mary's last
week sent us a note, saying "Jlon't,blow
so much about your market•untiLyon can
beat the prices here." Looking at the
Si. Mary's Argus of the same day, we find
wheat quoted at $1.26 to $1.28,, In Clin-
ton, at the same time, it Was selling at
$L30. The' Blyth Reeiew, last week,
says The Clinton New Era is constent-
ly upholding that town as the best mar-
ket place in the county, and yet Blyth
buyers paid two 'cents a bushel more last
week'for wheat than the Clinton buyers."
Turning to the Review's market report
WC fin' what q uoted $1,•25,, so that buyers
in Clinton were . actually paying FivE
cents it bushel metre than those or Blyth.
The highest quotation in Goderieb, Sea -
forth and Mitchell last week, was $1.28,
While the ruling figure here was $1.30.
These prices are taken from °Lir exchanges
in the different places -mentioned, and
should be suffieient to demonstrate that
as kgrain Market, Clinton has- no equal
in the west. We are aware that the ,ob-
tction will be raised that it Clinton
uyers pay these prices, there' ninsi be
crookedness somewhere," but this Wee,
tion is, eaelly met. Wh He' we believe that.
Clinton buyers are irreproacbable in their
dealings, we are sure they will give Am-,
eke every facility for seeing that they get

and a friend on one oceasion asking hint
howit was that Clinton :buyers could pay
more for grain than others in the county,
received the following answer: "They
cent easily do it.. They•hare the advantage
of coupe ng railways, and they can always
pay. more thew others." .That le the rea-
son exactly. • The immense quantity of
"grain purchased here last Year was an.
evidence that 'farmers had learned where
they could do the beet, and we eintfictently
expect to see even a much larger quantity
pnrchailed this. We don't ask farmers to
take this and paste it in their hats', hut we
do ask them to beer in., Inind the facts
that We hive brought before their notice:
What is true in reference to the price of
wheat being higher here, is generally true
in reference to the price of all other pales.

he gets the highest market price therefor;
