Alexander Coutts, ex -M, P. 1'. who died on
Sunday morning at Tilbury, Ont., from the
effects of being recently kicked by a horse,
was born at Tullicb, near Balmoral Castle,
Scotland, on April 17th, 1824. He came to
Canada in 1834, and was educated in Tilbury
East; andin.une 1856, Married Jana, the
eldest daughter of Archibald MoVean, of the
Gore of Toronto. A farmer by profession, he

affairs. He was a township councillor for•
eighteen years in succession, and was Reeve
of Tilbury East for over twelve years. He •
served as the member for West .Kent in the
Local Legislatureduring the last parliament,
