The folloviing letter, written by one who
gave evidence at the inquest with reference
to the means of cleaning the boiler, and
since the verdict was given, has been hand-
ed us for publication, and the public can
draw their own conclusions as to the con-
strutition of the boiler,and the risk of its
destruatien through being foul.

, At about half -past 12, on Sunday 'morning
last, a fatal accident occurred in' this town shicp,
by the bursting of the boiler in Mr. J. Kidd's
salt derriek:about oiae mile and aquarter from
east of Seaforth, which exploded with terribje
force:killing Mr. John =eon, who was pre-
paring to empty the boiler with the intention
