,The supply of beef cattle was very small, on
the market to -day, and prices have advanced.

but the supply is very small; Ald, McShane
has bought a car load of cattle from. H.Gould,
ofIWhitby, and a car -load fro: R. Jona; of
Mitchel, paying front 4i to 5o per lb. He also
bought seven head of cattle from dealers at
Vigor market. Theta ware no cattle sod to,
butchers at St. Gabriel market to•dny. •bout
100 head of cattle were brought to Vigor
market, and by neon they were well sold out.
11. J. Hooper had o car -load of enttle which
were bought from Brighton and he sold 15 oi:
them at fru average of $34 each. Last 'Friday
he bought 22 cattle from r. Shields of Toron-
to at $28 each, and re -sold 13 head of thorn
for $369, P. Dardis, of Morrisburg, had a car-
load df cattle,and sold three.large eaten, weigh-
ing 5,030 lb'', at 40 per lb, leas $3 on the lot.
