The Dominion meteorgical service re- port for July says of the weather in On- tario: "The weather in this Province was characterized by somewhat low temperature in most districts and much cloudiuess; there was also much rain in many districts. In a few portions of the Province the weather, on the contrary, was unusually dry. Showers were frequent during the first ten or twelve days; also on or about the 23rd, 27th and 31st, the intervening periods being fine is most localities. Front the first to third day of the month night temperatures of or near 35 degrees were recorded at many places, and cool nights prevailed throughout the greater part of the month. Stocking Lakes With Bass. The Fisheries Department of Ontario has completed its work for the season in connection with the restoceing of the lakes with bass. Altogether over 10,000 parent bass have been transplanted, and the angling in the inland waters is re- ported to have been largely improved accordingly. In the lakes in the vioicity of Huntsville, where up to four years ago no bass were to be found, the work of the Department is reported to have been very noticeable, end the tourists now re- port good bass fishing. New Military Feature. As a regular feature of the program before the Grand Stand, both afternoon and evening, at the Canadian National Exhibition, Toronto, August 20 to Sept. 10th, will be presented an Artillery Musical Drive.
