- Cullis Bros. have rented the chopper
to Alex. Young of Wingham for a year,
with the privilege of buying the mill site
and property inside of two mouths. -
Auburn correspondent to Clinton New
Era.
-The Toronto Star Of Saturday last
had a very good picture of Mr. and Mrs.
M. Walker and the members of their
family. The photo was taken on the
occasion of their recent golden wedding
anniversary.
-The Wingham Odclfellows will hold
their decoration service this (Thursday)
afternoon. A number of Oddfellows
are expected from neighboring towns.
All residents are asked to visit tee ceme-
tery and decorate the graves of departed
relatives and friends.
-Mr. D. J. Murchison, of Tnrnberry
has been seriously ill for some days with
appendicitis, and ou Monday Morning
last an operatioa was performed. Mr,
Murchison has been doing very well
since the operation, but is yet in a criti-
cal condition.
-The other clay a fair cyclist called at
au adjacent farm house and asked for a
drink of water. The women folks hap-
pened to be away "berrying," and the
yeoman and his help were enjoying
their mid-day meal. Gallantly and
with quickness of action one of the
young men at once arose from his meal
to escort his guest to the well -indeed
in bis eagerness to respond, he almost
overturned the table in getting away
from it. The fair cyclist thanked him
for his proffered kindness, remarking
that he knew how to work a pump,
'Who knows what may happen after
an& an impromptu introduction as
