19th, of the death of Miss Margaret
E1iZ;tbeth Sweet, of ue as a surprise and
shock to the young lady's relatives and
friends in Exeter vicinity, The deceas-

quarter of a mile south of Exeter, and

Iulhe death of Ur. Angus McQnaig,
which took place at the family residence
in Lucknow on Friday, June 17th, the
community has lost a good citizen, and
an old and highly respected resident.
Mr. McQuaig was widely known, and for
many years wan one of the most exten-
sive timber dealers in the province. He
was thoroughly upright in all his deal-
ings, and his death will be regretted by a
very wide circle of friends. He had
been in poor health for several months
with liver trouble.

About noon Sunday, June 19th, the
spirit of Jacob Keller, au old and well
known resident of Ethel locality, took
its flight from the clay tenement. His
demise was not unexpected as he had
been in failing health for the past two
years from au inward tumor and old age.
Deceased was born iu the Co. of York,
where his father had settled, on coming
from Pennyslvania, U. S., nearly 100
years ago. In his earlier years the sub-
ject of this notice was a carpenter and
had a saw mill and was a very handy
niau. In 1868 he moved to Grey town-
ship (accompanied by his wife whose
maiden name was Margaret Oster, and
to whom he was married about 60 years
ago) and bought the 100 acre farm, lot
16; Con, 7, from a man named Witham
Bailey, 'and npon which he continuously
resided until his demise, transforming it
from a bash lot into a tine farm.

well known horsembn of Listowel, died
at his home at 9 o'clock Thursday even-
ing, June 23rd. About two weeks ago
he returned from Boston; where he had

attack of Bright's disease. Mr. Kidd
was in his 48th year, and was married
about eight years ago to the eldest

Ship having pre -emptied and felled the

that township. On this farm he spent
the greater part of his life in Canada.
He moved to Brussels in 1892 and a few
years later moved to Teeswater.
