Postmaster Farrow of Brussels was at Guelph on Tuesday of last week attend- ing the funeral of his uncle, Asher Far- row, who had attained the good old age of 87 years. Deceased came to Canada from England 55 years ago and after a sojourn in Clark township moved west- ward and bought land year Guelph where he and bis family have continuously resided. Mrs. Farrow died years ago. The subject of this notice was very suc- cessful in material things; he was a very warm supporter of Liberal principles iu polities and enjoyed the good opinions of a wide circle of relatives and friends. Relatives were present at the funeral from Oshawa, Toronto, Goderioh, Blne- vale, Brussels and other places. ttL'Til, Mr. Hugh McTavish, brother of Mrs. J, A, Anderson and. Miss McTavish, and a former resident of Myth, diets in De- troit on Saturday morning. He had'', been in poor health for a long time. Mrs, Anderson and Miss McTavish were with him during the last hours of his ill - 110E8. Mr. John Moffat has sold his resi- dence and grounds on Queen street north to Mr. A. B. Carr, of East Wawa - nosh. The price paid was $800. Mr. Moffat and family will move to Toronto, which we are sorry to announce. While regretting tlio removal of Mr: Moffat and family from our village, it affords us great pleasure to welcome Mr. Carr and family as citizens. Mr. Carr for many years bas been a leading and prominent citizen of East Wawanosh, and for several years past was a member of the township council. Chamney, on Thursday evening, Juue 16th, when a number of the friends of Mr. Dave Chaluuey assembled, and spent a very enjoyable time, consisting of iustru- mental music by the Misses Lottie and Gussie Haines; violin music by Mr. Edward and Evans Haines, while Mr. Robt. Chamney rendered some beastiful selections on the mouth -organ. There were also recitations, games and atheletio performances. After which a tasty supper was provided by Miss Eupheeua Chauauey and Miss Lena Deacon. The evening ended, by all singing with hearty voiees "God save the King," the ac- compauieut played by Miss Euphema Thompson Ali returned to their h,rmes felly satisitfad with the evening's enjoy- ment. A very pretty wedding took place at the glome of Mr. and Mrs. John Walden of Hallett, oa Wednesday, June 15'h, when their youngest daughter, Thirza M., because the wife of Mr. John Cald- well, a prosperous young farmer of East Wawauosh. Promptly at 12 o'clock, to the strains of tha wedding march played by Miss Day, of Wiugham, the happy couple took their places under a beauti- ful arch ou the lawn, where the nuptial kuot was securely tied by Rev. T. B. Coupland, of Auburn. The bride looked haudsome in a gown of white organdie, trimmed with all-over lace. After hearty congratulations, the company re- paired to the dining room where a bountiful dinner was partaken of. The presents were nanlerous and costly, showing the high esteem in which the youug couple are held.
