Wednesday morning, church service was held in the upstairs lounge. Residents welcomed Rev. Jones from the United Church for his first ministerial service at Maplewood. During the service, Rev. Jones remembered Les Oliver with a prayer. Winona McDougall provided piano accom- paniment for favourite hymns after the service. Anne Downey and Marj Maloney were on hand to give assistance to residents with Lions TV bingo. Everyone hopes were high but no winners were reported. Friday afternoon residents were in the dining room trying their luck at bingo with Ruth Bock in charge., Winners were Elsie Shaddick, Ethel Coleman, Anna Agar, Willie Tremeer and Pete Tremeer. Friday evening residents had the pleasure of watching the spectacular Santa Claus parade from the warm show room at Bill McLaug)ilins. Everyone admired the dif- ferent entries and bright lights and gave particular attention to the float that Maplewood had entered. Agnes Hunter and Steve Lupul, residents of Maplewood, were anxious to be even more directly involved in the parade and chose to ride on the Maplewood float. Their willingness to participate was greatly ap- preciated.
