Current trends continue for CentEnaires The Seaforth Centenaires moved one step farther away from a spot in the Junior D playoffs, when they were beaten 9-2 by the Hawks Friday night in Mitchell. The Cents had been playing well against the top ranked Mitchell club in earlier mat- ' ches, and tied them once. After the first period of play on Friday it looked like it was going to be another close match. MLtchen opened the scoring, but after 14 minutes of play Brad Carter got an unassisted power play goal for the Cents to tie the game up. Mitchell outshot Seaforth 18 to nine in the period, and scored once more to take a 2-1 lead. The Centenaires fell apart in the second period and allowed Mitchell to score four unanswered goals. After netminder Bill Tremeer faced 25 shots in the period for the local club he was replaced by Jason Cooper who played the balance of the game. hatchet] added three goals to their tally in the final period The one bright spot of the period for the Centenaires came when Travis Lyndon let go a blast from the point. The Mhtchefl netminder made the initial save, then stopped Mike Betties from scor- ing on the rebound, but Blair Beuerman picked up Bettles' rebound and got Seaforth's second goal. The final score was 9-2 fir Mahan. The Centenaires have row played sixteen games and have one win, 4 losses, and one tie. There are 19 games left on their schedule, the next of vela will be played Sunday, December 4 in Seuforth at 1:30.
