U.S.A. werehome on the weekend to help
her parents, Margaret and Harvey Craig,
celebrate their 45th wedding anniversary.

SUPPER WELL A1TENDED
The annual turkey supper at Duffs United
church ;as well attended when approx-
imately
pproximately 650 peop-e were fed last Wednesday
evening. There were over 12' take outs
made alp.
Rev. Charles Swan, former minister here,
was in the village last week. At present, he
is preaching at Palmer rapids in north-
eastern Ontario.
Harold Hugrll of Seaforth visted over
Saturday night with Claris Stevenson,
celebrating his 12th birthday.

4-H club attends CWL meeting

The November meeting of the St. Colum -
ban Catholic Women's League was held on
Tuesday, November 1 in the rectory room
with 17 members, Sr. Rita Coyne, Father J.
Hardy and four guests present.
Margaret O'Reilly, president, opened the
meeting with the league prayer and a
reading was done by Sr. Rita followed by a
few minutes of silent meditation.
The McKillop No. 4, 9-H club leaders, Jan-
neke Murray and Cora De Vries and
members Michelle Cronin and Kathleen
Ryan were present at the meeting.
Michelle Cronin, on behalf of the club,
thanked the C.W.L. for their financial sup-

port to the club and Kathleen Ryan explain-
ed what the girls are learning through the
4-H dubs.
The meeting continued. Correspondence
included a letter from the Children's Aid
Society asking for financial support for
Christmas food gift certificates for the
needy and toys and clothes for children. A
box will be placed in the back of the church
for donations to this cause.
All the tickets for the Harvest Dance on
Saturday, November 12, have been sold,
therefore there will not be any at the door.
Mildred Cronin gave a detailed report of the
Deanery meeting held in Blyth recently.
The McKillop Federation of Agriculture
dinner and meeting will be held in the St.
Columban Church hall on November 15 with
the C.W.L. ladies catering for the dinner.
The December meeting will be held on
Monday, December 5 which will be the an-
nual Christmas supper and gift exchange
with Mrs. Miller catering.
Father Hardy spoke briefly at this time
and thanked the ladies for all their help at
the rectory and for linens. He also urged the
lathes to continue to build community spirit
by using every occasion possible to bring
people together and do things as a parish
family.
The meeting closed with prayer followed
by a light lunch.

Bill and Man Evans from Niagara Falls
were with their mother Millie Evans for the
weekend. They also attended the family bir-
thday party for Marj's father Mr. Alf Con-
nolly of Kennicott. Mr. Connolly celebrated
his 80th birthday on Saturday afternoon.

The Msgr. D.J. Egan Assembly of the
Knights of Columbus formed an honor guard
for the Goderich Canadian Legion church.

The annual Memorial Mass for the
deceased members of the K of C the nact
year was celebrated by Chaplain Father
Caruana in the K of C council chambers in
the St. Columban hall on Sunday evening at
Span.
Brother Knights deceased in the last year •
were Richard Cases, Claude Gelinis, James
O'Sullivan and Charles Rau, wider the
direction of Church Activity Chai-man Sir
Ifni ' t Roy Swart.
Dublin and District Lions Club welremed
the District Governor, Dick Spryte from
Grand Valley, to their regular dinner
meeting on Tuesday, November 1st at the
community centre. President Ernie Flem-
ing welcomed everyone with
methree guests also from St. Marys and three
from Thorndale.
A most enjoyable wedding reception of the
newly married couple Louis and Kelly Ann
(Ruston) Looby was attended by friends and
neighbors from Dublin on Saturday evening,
November 5th, in the Legion Hall in
Stratford.

Tuesday with Mr. and Mrs. Don Cotton_
Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Brad
Knight on -the birth of a daughter, and also to
grandparents Jack and Donna on their first
grandchild.
Mrs. Leslie Knight and Mrs. Wilfred
Strickler from the Cranbrook W.I. attended
the Guelph Area Convention- of the W.I. at
MaryhilL The theme was "You ain't seen
nothing yet".
Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred Strickler attended
the funeral service in Hamilton on Saturday
November 5 for the late Jack Warby.
The Canadian Foresters had their second
euchre on Friday November 4 in the Com-
munity Centre with 11 tables at play. Win-

Chris Heagle, daughter of Harold and
Anne Bragg has received several awards
following the completion of her 3rd year of
Veterinary College: Boehnnger-Ingelheim
Scholarship - Academic Achievement in
Ruminant, Health Management, Master Pet
Food Nutrition and Walthams Scholarship
for Academic Achievement in Health
Management of Companion and Sporting
animals. Each- carries a monetary award.
The Canadian Foresters hosted the first
euchre on Friday October 28 with 14 tables
playing. Winners were: high - Anne Bragg,

Irene McCreight (playing as a man), lone
hands - June Jacklin,. Cecil Raynard, lucky
