Roll call was pumpkins and In- dian corn for the Activation Group Project. Reports were given and - accepted. The President reported Jeanne Saldivar and Kathy Scootiens were the recipients of the bursary given by the auxiliary to further their career in the medical f eld. The winners of Fa2 Fair prizes were Alison Ruth Rowe, (floor lamp), Mary Marg Maloney, (calico cat) and Mary Nesbitt (quilt). The auxiliary says "thank you to Liz Moir and Colleen Lindemann of the Seaforth Sewing Centre for allowing the quilt to be. on display there. The Conference of District Two was discussed and the auxiliary was inform- ed many compliments were extended to them on how well we bad done. Thanks are extended to Joan Whyte, Bqb Dinsmore and Yvonne Kitchen for attending the con- ference and for offering generous words and support. The next meeting is Tuesday, November 8,19$8. PLEASE ATTEND as the new Chief Executive Officer will be there, Mr. R. Smith. We would like to have all members attend and extend to him a warm welcome to Seaforth. See you in November, Lioness Club 'clown' best dressed The October meeting of the Seaforth John Vincent. Congratulations to John. Lioness Club was held with 19 members in There was a discussion on whether or not , attendance. Everyone was to dress up for to have a float in the Santa Claus parade. the meeting. Group "D"' was in charge of The decision was "yes". the supper and a beautiful Hallowe'en cake was enjoyed by all. The euchres at the Maplewood Manor will be starting shortly. A dessert euchre was alio discussed. Members will be having a draw on a basket of groceries and a bushel of apples. The draw is to be made on December 4 at the toy show. The pie sale was once again a big success. Thank you to everyone who came out to buy the pies and to all the girls that made them. The winner at the lioness bursary am. One guest "Cathy" was brought out by Dorothy Hays. It is always nice to see a new face. Two visitors dropped in to the meeting. The first one was Alf. He was looking for a "Kitty" but he cofilld not find one. So he pick- ed a clown. Congratulations to Lioness "Viola Taylor", the winner and best dressed. The second visitor was quite a character. SEAFORTH LIONESS The Seaforth Lawn Bowling Club held its October social and pot luck supper at the Legion Hall Tuesday, October 28 commenc- ing at 6 pm. Edna Bell, President of the( ladies club, extended a welcome to the 49 members and associates present for the pot- luck supper. A short business period follow- ed the supper with Edna Bell in charge. Jack Muir president of the men's inform- ed members the roof had been repaired on the club house, and also asked members to think about next year the 60th anniversary of the club and if anyone has any special ideas to pass them on. Past President Mary Finlayson presented an honarium to Neil Bell the greenskeeper on. behalf of the ladies as their appreciation for his work during the summer. A cheque was also presented to the men's club to help defray expenses of running the club and Jack Muir thanked the ladies on behalf of the men for their generosity. Nine tables of euchre were in play and two of bridge. High scores in bridge were Grace Cornish and Gordon Scott while Mary Hart and Mel Brady held the low score's. In euchre winners were Ladies high - Dorothy McCluskie, Lone Hands - Stella Worden, Consolation - Edna Bell, Men's high - Ethel Dennis (playing as a man), Lone Hands - Russell Worden (who had nine), Consolation - Bert Welters. The next social will be in the Legion Hall November 22 starting at 8 pm. Hostesses will be Mary Chapple, Rachel Riehl and Grace and Dave Cornish. Call Heather or Neil with your news tips. 527-0240.
