visitor last Thursday, as full-time actor and part-time mime David
Langlois of Toronto paid a visit to the school to show the students
various masks he uses and has used in his act. Above, Langloir,

Dublin PTA turkey bingo well attended

The Dublin PTA Turkey Bingo was well
attended on Thursday, October 27. Winners
of the turkeys were Ethel Haist, Jim
Crowley, Mrs. Helen Elliott, Grace Murray,
Scott Saunders, Judy Pontsieon, Darcy
Wood, Mary Etue, Pearl Ruston, Danny
Cronin, Pearl Gloor and Joan Dow.
Door prizes were all donated by local
businesses. The winners were: Joe Vulders,
Jamie Stapleton, Matt Rolph, Louise Leslie,
Cathy Coyne, Viola Harper, Pete Van
Nynatten, Darlene Tompkins, Darcy Wood
and George Rock.
Share the Wealth games winners were
Shawn O'Rourke, Mary Jane Coyne and
Eileen MacRae.
Consolation prizes went to Joan Dow,
Jean Maloney and Ross Schoonderwoerd.
Another bingo is planned for November
29.
Mr. and Mrs. Jack Cronin from the west
are visiting friends and relatives here in the
district. While visiting Ann and Hugh Benn-
inger, they took Ann and Hugh out to dinner
on the occasion of Ann's birthday one even-
ing last week.
Birthday celebrations in London on Sun-
day at the home of Nora Ann and Ian
Jackson was the first birthday for their little
son Trevor Ian. Trevor was one on October
25 and Jenny MacRae from London had her
14th birthday on Sunday the 30th. Guests
were Don and Eileen MacRae, Michael,
Patricia, Kurt, Marce, Denise and Joe from
Staffa WI hosts meeting

Staffa Correspondent Mahon was given by Roberta, stating that
MRS. JOHN TEMPLEMAN the new Board Director for Subdivision 23 is

District. Oxford North will be hosting the
1989 London Area Convention, which will be
one day only on Thursday October 12.
Members were reminded of their invita-
tion t0 meet with Kirkton-Women's Institute
on Thursday Oct. 27 and to attend a'dessert
euchre hosted by Carlingford Women's In-
stitute on Monday November 7. Staffa will
be hosting the Perth South District Ex-
ecutive banquet on Tuesday evening
November 1 in the township hall.
Christmas greetings and a gift of a linen
tea towel was received from the Weavering
Women's Institute in Kent, England and
Doris Miller is responsible for choosing a
gift to be sent to England.
Tweedsmuir meeting in November was
reviewed and everyone enjoyed conversa-
tion over a light lunch served by Margaret
Daynard and Grace Kerslake.
Loreen Hamilton, St. Marys visited
recently with Doris Miller.
At time of writing Mary Elliott is a patient
in Stratford General Hospital.
Freda Kerslake, Doris Miller and Roberta
Templeman, attended the Kirkton Woman's
Institute meeting on Thursday evening
when Paul Nairn was the guest speaker and
showed slides on his recent exchange trip to
Great Britain.
Barb Templeman Oakville spent the
weekend with her family.
Russell and Margaret Miller attended the
graduation of their son Mark on Friday Oct.
21st. Mark graduated from the University of
Waterloo with his B.A. degree in Sociology.
Marjorie Drake and Hazel Harburn
hosted the Citizenship and Legislation
meeting of the Staffa Women's Institute,
held in the township hall on Wednesdy after-
noon, Oct. 26 at 1:30 pm. Hazel Harburn
presided, opening with the Institute Ode and
Mary Stewart Collect with Margaret Kemp
accompanying on the piano. Hazel then in-
troduced Emma and Charles Friend, who
took everyone on a delightful trip through
California and Arizona, Charles showing the
pictures and Emma giving the commen-
tary. They were thanked by Marjorie
Drake.
Eighteen answered the roll call, a Cana-
dian law which causes me some concern,
with excellent answers, including immigra-
tion laws, school funding, highway speed
control and free trade. Joyce Vivian con-
ducted a contest on Canadian Legislation
which made everyone think.
Roberta Templeman presided for the
business portion which included a report on
the recent Perth County Women's Institute
Rally in Atwood with seven attending from
Staffa given by Kay Smale. A report on the

Jim and Janneke Murray returned home
last week from a week's vacation in sunny
Hawaii.
Mrs. Frank Bowman of Stratford visited
on the weekend with Ray and Eleanor
'Maloney and family.
Mary Jo Nelson of Lucknow visited one
:day last week with her parents, Clarence
:and Cecilia Ryan and on Saturday, Don and
'Brenda Ryan, Matthew, Stephen, David and
Angela visited with the Ryans.

Congratulations to lion and 'Theresa
Cronin on the birth of their little 'girl, and
grandparents Jim and Mildred Cronin on
another granddaughter.
Sympathy of the community is extended
to Father Frank Moylan of Santo Domingo
and Grace Dalton of Owen Sound, Mary
Moylan and other relatives of the late Joe
Moylan of Waterloo, who died suddenly last
week. Relatives in the area attended the
Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday at St.
Louis Catholic Church in Waterloo.
Father Frank Moylan returned to Santo
Domingo last Tuesday, October 25 after
spending several weeks during the summer
with relatives in this area. .
