Federal, and municipal meetings planned
' The Huron County Federation of
Agriculture will host an All -Candidates
meeting for the Huron -Bruce riding prior
to the November 21 federal'election.
Murray Cardiff, Progressive -
Conservative, Tony McQuail, New
Democrat and Ken Dunlop, Liberal will all
• be present at the Clinton Public School on
Thursday, October 27 at 8:30 p.m. for an
open discussion and to answer questions.
Everyone is welcome.
Locally, in the Town of Seaforth, the BIA
and The Huron Expositor will sponsor an
All -Candidates meeting on Wednesday,
November 2 at 7 p.m. in the Seaforth and
District Community Centres. Candidates
will be asked to respond to a list of
prepared questions at'this time, as well as
participate in a question period from the
general public. The evening will be capped
off with an informal social event.
Everyone is welcome to attend.
Huron Coanty.farmers eligible for awards.
Once a year, the Huron Soil and Water
Conservation District of the Huron Soil and
Crop Improvement Association honors a
farmer for efforts in soil and water
:.conservation.
This award is intended to recognize con-
servation practices which can be performed
on local farms, and which protect our soil
..and water resources.
All farmers in Huron County are eligible

Conservation Award. Nominations for the
award can be made by any resident of
Huron County. Nominations will be received
at the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and
Food office in Clinton until September 30,
1988. Judging of the farms Will be done by a
committee composed of the previous three
years' winners. ,
The winner will be announced at the An-
nual Awards Banquet in January.

BRYAN HODGERT, B. Math., FLMI/M,
son of Bill and Lois Hodgert of Seaforth,
received his Masters degree in Fellow Life
Management Institute. Introduced in 1986
the Master Fellow program was designed
for FLMds whowanted to continue their
knowledge of insurance and other business
subjects. Established in 1932, the FLMI is
the world's largest university -level educa-
tion program in insurance.
The FLMI designation is considered the
hallmark of professionalism for managers
and personnelin the life and health in-
surance and financial services business.
Ten years ago when Mr. Hodgert,
FLMI/M, Marketing Projects Officer for
Mutual Life, received his FLMI designa-
tion, the Master Fellow program didn't ex-
ist. As a past presient of the Waterloo
FLMI Society, he said keeping abreast of
current issues affecting the insurance in-
dustry is a priority for him, and the
material covered in the FLMI/M program
has been helpful.
Mr. Hodgert has been at Mutual Life for
15 years.
